Guest guest
If its aproved and just for laughs I would think it more important not to let the dogs out whilst they're fasting, incase they eat a canine friend in the park! I cannot imagine that a 24 hr fast is going to require a mono day of eating afterward because dogs are designed to go longer hours without food intake. I guess the dogs are going to feel a little confused however?.. Normally animals chose to fast when they are sick. When I was a child we had a dog on a 'reqular' diet. My Grand-mother gave him a chicken bone and he became very ill; losing alot of weight because he chose to eat nothing until it felt right. My mother, at one point became scared and tried to force feed him with cod-liver oil and soup - the result being he almost snapped her arm off! Would it be better to leave a dog to his own desires on fasting? Unless it had been " damaged " by a SAD diet and lost its intuition.. - I am certianly not up on the subject but very interested to learn more?.. Guest guest
Hi all, I'm new here so I don't really have anything to post on the topic just yet of a human raw food diet as I'm still reading and trying to learn but when I saw the post with " dogs " in the subject line well that's up an alley that I know something about. I don't recall now who the original poster was asking about fasting their dog(s) but if that person or anyone else for that matter would like to learn about feeding (and fasting) a species appropriate raw food diet to their dog, cat, ferret, etc. then I urge you to go to the search engine at and simply type in rawfeeding, the first group that comes up will be the one you'll want. Good luck and enjoy, I know my canine crew does. :-) Shelly & the Angels of the Carolina's www.realpoodles.com Naturally reared, rawfed, unvaxed versatility in curls!
