Some carnivores do eat some grass, but not in seed, and definitely not the seeds in isolation. Same for humans! Seeds are for the birds -- really!!! I read something on a web site that said about in the wild dogs would have some small prey with probably vegetable content in their stomachs and more or less eat it all - the vegetable matter would be half digested but even though I love my dos I am not prepared to go that far!!!!!!!!!!!! Experimenting with this - but anything will be an improvement on the foul smelling stuff that comes out of the tins - (they love that also!) Any ideas anyone? _____ Lynne, You are so wise and loving to treat your dogs in this way! No dog in the history of the planet other than a dog in human " care " has ever eaten anything from a bag or can, or anything that foul smelling, for that matter. As far as I know, what you are doing is just about perfect for the dogs! They are carnivores, and all terrestrial carnivores pick up some partially digested vegetable matter, as you described. By simply blending that up and mixing it into the meat, you've already provided significant mechanical predigestion. No need to go further in that regard!
