(I ate about 5 of them...*reaaaallllyyyy ripe..*; and that combined with some temperatures in the 80s... 2. the one bag in the fridge did very well - under vacuum it hadn't turned black, and I was able to eat 3-4 or the bananas from that pack, and they had a good consistency - not too mushy; however, when I went back to get the remainder of the pack maybe 3 hours later, they'd all turned jet black, and were all soft and mushy...almost like they'd decided they had some catching up to do...lol! lost 3 more bananas. _____ Hi Bob, Are you saying that the ones in the pantry were unrefrigerated? That won't work, fermentation will explode the seals. (But this could be a good lesson in how little it takes to set off significant fermentation, and how quickly it occurs.) They must be refrigerated or frozen upon sealing. Second bag, once you let in the oxygen, oxidation is rapid. If you try (next time) resealing the bag each time you remove bananas, things will probably go much better in the banana storage department! -- ---------------------[ Ciphire Signature ]---------------------- vlinfo signed email body (1052 characters) on 29 March 2005 at 08:00:26 UTC rawfood ------------------------------- : Ciphire has secured this email against identity theft. : Free download at www.ciphire.com.
