Thai and Florida coconuts

Hi Willa,

So glad you mentioned the directions are for Thai coconuts. The link

to the step-by-step illuatrated instructions are also for Thai.

These really are different. I have never had one. The meat of

standard coconuts if not custardy. So this must be these Thai ones.

Recently, a friend was going to make my sister and I our own

little 'raw' party. Unfortunately, weather caused a cancellation.

But when she described what she had prepared, it was these Thai

coconuts. From what she described, they are different from the ones

we had in South Florida falling off the palm trees and I knew I had

yet to taste one. And then I went to Whole Foods and saw just what

she had described. The label: Thai coconuts and they looked just

like the photos in those illustrated directions.

So I do believe we are talking about two different plants. The

immature coconuts label does not fit, because no fruit becomes LESS

soft as it matures, and we are told the Thai coconuts are custardy.

Florida coconut texture is definitely not custardy at any point in

it's natural state.

Kind Regards,

oak1day
