It can be vegan night by not putting cheese on your portion. Or bring your

own vegan cheese and share with others.

If there's enough vegans, maybe the hosts can splurg on vegan cheese. (I

doubt it cause it's so expensive; not frugal)

And the dough is almost always vegan. Flour water and salt, that's it.

I've done pizzas with Frugal Foodies and they are usually very tasty.

Most likely the event is full, but I find that you have a good 50% chance of

getting in if you're in the waiting list, especially the first 3.

Also, maybe you can bribe him, veggie Moses to let you in. *smile*

2nd Monday VEGAN nights are always booked. Keep signing up for vegan nights

so he knows there's a big demand for it.

Please be responsible and try your best to make it. If you can't make it,

contact the hosts immediately as a good gesture/manner; which I find most

people do have..

Pls read everything on the web site. This cooking group can be quite hectic

cooking with 12 strangers in a crowded kitchen. I'm sad not too many people

come back. I've been going for the past 3 years and feel lucky to have

someone open their private veg kitchen to others. Yes, all the pots, pans,

dishes are veg only, never touched meat, cause the host is a veg. This is

also another great way to meet new veg and veg friendly folks....

Who pushed for vegan nights for the past 3 years! Yea!

[frugalfoodies] October at Frugal Foodies

Tuesday, October 6th-this will be our theme night at Frugal Foodies and it's

going to be all about pizza. We'll make some pizza dough, prepare toppings,

and throw lots of different pizzas on the stone throughout the evening,

including appetizer pizzas, dessert pizzas, and perhaps even a salad. Get

ready for a messy night of it, likely including near fires, the like.

Should be hot and tasty.

Tuesday, October 13th-it's a Vegan Night at Frugal Foodies, so we'll be

doing some fall dishes as much as possible. People have been telling me

that I'm not doing a very good job of selling the vegan nights with a lot of

good adjectives and good ol' pizzazz, but it doesn't seem to need it. The

vegan nights have been a hit, and this night will be especially cool because

it's a benefit for Tri-Valley CAREs (Communities Against a Radioactive

Environment). Loulena Miles will be here to talk about their work and will

give us the opportunity to support their work. You can learn more about

them at http://www.trivalleycares.org/, and

learn more about the benefit nights at www.frugalfoodies.org/benefit.

Tuesday, October 20th-it's our Guest Chef Night, and the only problem is

that we still don't have a guest chef. But I'm working on it and hopefully

somebody will come through. These are very popular nights and our mystery

chef will surely not disappoint, regaling us with her/his best recipes of

the past year. So be adventurous and sign up for something that should be

surprisingly good.

Tuesday, October 27th-it's our Special Guest Ingredient Night and for late

October, we'll be aptly featuring the pumpkin. And if we cook things up

fast enough, perhaps we'll even carve up a few in preparation for Halloween.

In any case, be ready for some pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, perhaps

French-fried pumpkin, the like. Might be a lot of carbs so prepare your

body accordingly.

We look forward to having you join us at Frugal Foodies in October. Please

remember that you need to register in advance and may do so by replying to

this email. You can also learn all about Frugal Foodies at

www.frugalfoodies.org.
