Guest guest
Hi Everyone : ) Sorry for the late notice about this celebration/auction, but I just heard about this. Island Cat Resources and Adoption, or ICRA, (www.icraeastbay.org) rescues cats and kittens from Alameda, Oakland and Emeryville. Those that are tame enough for possible adoption are fostered/socialized or placed with excellent homes if no socializing is needed. Those that are too feral are neutered, given appropriate medical care, released and taken care of by ICRA volunteers. I have personally dealt with this organization and they are a great group of people. ICRA is celebrating their 15th anniversary on Saturday with jazz (Terrence Brewer), vegetarian appetizers and desserts, champagne, wine coffee and tea. There will be a silent auction of gift certificates, jewelery, overnight trips, pet " goodies " , sports memorabilia and more. It will be held in the Elks Lodge at 2255 Santa Clara Ave. in Alameda. Parking is available in the back and the entrance is on the lower level, also in the back. The suggested donation is a bag of new cat food and $20 or $25 (All proceeds from the entire evening go only to helping cats/kittens in need.) Again, the website is ICRAEASTBAY.ORG and the number is 510-869-2584. There's a lengthy message on the machine, press * to skip it. I wish I knew about this sooner, as I have items to donate. I am not sure if it's too late to donate. Hope some fellow cat lovers can make it : ) Best, Stephanie-- " Our task must be to widen our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
