From Mabel Hoffman's Crockery Cookery. 6 cups peeled potato slices 1 cup chopped onion 1 cup chopped celery 1 cup water 2/3 cup cider vinegar 1/4 cup sugar 2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca 1 teaspoon salt 3/4 teaspoon celery seed 1/4 teaspoon pepper 6 slices cooked crumbled " Fakin Bacon " 1/4 cup snipped fresh parsley In a 3-1/2 or 4 quart crockery cooker combine potatoes, onion, and celery. In a bowl combine water, vinegar, sugar, tapioca, salt, celery seed, and pepper. Pour over potatoes. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours.
