Guest guest
Thanks to every one who replied when I needed help on how to get started. I'm reading and asking as many questions as I can. I even found a group in my town called RawRaw Raleigh who will be opening the area's first raw foods restaurant soon. Unfortunately I can't plant a garden at my apartment complex, and the work is too strenuous for my condition. I am 25 and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 9, so the disease has had quite a while to do irreversible joint damage. My focus now is on what I can do to improve not only my physical pain, but also my self esteem, and the overall health of my body. Rheumatoid arthritis is an extremely hormonal disease, and is different than other forms of arthritis in that it is the result of the immune system attacking the body. This leads to a domino effect of additional health problems and hardship. Doctors have always stressed the importance of a healthy diet to me, but I've been addicted to carbs and dairy since I was a child, and food has always been the one thing that made me feel full. (Inside and Out) I am not overweight, but losing some weight will help to improve my health. Also, I need nourishment that will keep me energetic rather than slowing me down. Well, again..thanks! I'll be reading and posting!
