Guest guest Report post Posted September 10, 2007 Tried to improve (our database) with last column?????? More O's.. wow, even O neg at that.. but not long termers, like the A's. I remember when I was young, crawling on the floor, reaching in the refrigerator and eating raw bacon and remember how good that tasted, not candy, cookies or such but raw meat. I am O negative....? Would like to find more info on any blood type correlation to diet other than the book " eat right 4 your type " or just an explanation or attempt at an explanation as to why we have different blood types. Not some iffy Internet source.. because as we all know there is a lot of uncredulous info on the Internet. Anyone? please. PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN THE DATABASE SURVEY. thank you, ron of course there is no way of confirming any entries made to our database but surely the odds are in favor of truth, even if there are ulterior agendas abound. Guest guest Report post Posted September 10, 2007 i was just talking about this blood type thing on my web site, i asked for people to give their blood types, and there are a lot of type o's that seem to be long term vegans... a girl on there talks about knowing someone who works for the doctor who wrote the book and that it is all theory with no scientific evidence... if you go to the site, you can read the whole detailed thread... but, how interesting, i was stressed about this as well, i'm a, but my bf is o and everyone is telling him that if he doesn't eat meat he will die (and he's not vegan, so he's thinking he needs to raise his meat intake, which is making me shutter) the site, if you want to read the thread is, www.veganmyspace.com "Ron" <ron.zzxx To: Subject: Chinese Medicine 1Mon, 10 Sep 2007 17:44:33 -0000 Tried to improve (our database) with last column?????? Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 Although I'm an " a " , my daughter is " o " positive and she's been fully vegan for 5 years. She's not on this list, but don't know if that helps? I wonder if your bacon forays might have been the result of your body trying to get something it needed, maybe from a deficiency? When I was much younger I used to almost crave cooked shrimp, and I've been told I must have needed the selenium. I don't crave it now at all, thankfully. About 20 years ago I developed severe anemia and the clue to it was that I was craving ice. , " Ron " <ron.zzxx wrote: > > Tried to improve (our database) with last column?????? Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 Ron I would like to ask what your views are on veganism. I note in your survey you say you are eating everything at the moment. I also remember you saying you tried veganism as a diet. I'm just interested to find out whether your interest is in veganism, and for what reason, or just trying different diets. Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 yes, I wonder.. my mother had the same ice/anemia problem.. have to ask her about that? I think the doctor said eat more meat? she is an " O- " too. I am currently avoiding nightshades.. trying to combat inflammation, pressure in neck and head.. seems when I avoided them the neck and head problems went away..........trial and error, a lot of these things for me.. but I don't give up.. and will be a vegan if that's what it takes.. or VAMAP vegan as much as possible because as I'm sure you all know there are not many animal product alternatives out there and if nightshades are a problem (for some) that makes being vegan all the harder. , " tofuchick24 " <tofuchick wrote: > > Although I'm an " a " , my daughter is " o " positive and she's been fully > vegan for 5 years. Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 thank you shelley, and not to discredit you or any of the comments posted to your site but we need credible sources on this issue, or I do, not he said she said.. or some questionable Internet site. For instance I was with an Rh negative group for a while and I think all of them were convinced they were aliens from another planet which is coming back in 2112 based on Internet sourcing and writers blending science fiction and or their agendas with facts.. and yes this could also be the case with er4yt???????? i was just talking about this blood type thing on my web site, i asked for people to give their blood types, and there are a lot of type o's that seem to be long term vegans... a girl on there talks about knowing someone who works for the doctor who wrote the book and that it is all theory with no scientific evidence... if you go to the site, you can read the whole detailed thread... but, how interesting, i was stressed about this as well, i'm a, but my bf is o and everyone is telling him that if he doesn't eat meat he will die (and he's not vegan, so he's thinking he needs to raise his meat intake, which is making me shutter)
Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 I have a history of eliminating animal products in my diet for approximately twenty years. And I would say because I suspect the drugs, hormones, etc. are not good first off. And it's always been off and on, like a pendulum, always seeming to swing past where I feel good. Sometimes I even wonder if it's psychological.. but overall I am a sort of a workshop, trying this trying that. Have also leaned towards organic animal products but I was definitely more vegan before er4yt.. before er4yt I was mainly leaning on the book, " food is your best medicine " . And subsequently I don't have any real health problems but am concerned about my health/diet for prevention more than cure. Overall I am interested in truth and am often a confused subject to the times we live in but am also not stupid or one to follow blindly, and also I am (as of yet) not convinced strict veganism is what everyone should do just as much as I am not convinced we need animal products.. or at least some of us to operate at top levels. , " heartwerk " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > Ron > > I would like to ask what your views are on veganism. Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 good question..... i mean of course, but i don't see that side of things in our modern existense, if i actually had to kill every animal i ate I am sure it would be much different and I hate factory farming..... do i know what it's like to hunt, kill and eat? No I don't.. I do feel sorry for them, of course, and i feel sorry for us so far removed from our pasts.. It's hard to know what to think, born into this madness.. i respect vegans and I want to be one but i don't want to be weak from malnourishment especially in some of the situations I'm in.. i am objective, i am willing to do what ever i feel is right. , " jo " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > Do you not feel sorry for the animals? Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 ok, we come to the crux of the matter there is no reason whatsoever why you would be malnourished if you went vegan. Ron Sep 11, 2007 2:26 PM Re: Chinese Medicine 1 good question..... i mean of course, but i don't see that side of things in our modern existense, if i actually had to kill every animal i ate I am sure it would be much different and I hate factory farming..... do i know what it's like to hunt, kill and eat? No I don't.. I do feel sorry for them, of course, and i feel sorry for us so far removed from our pasts.. It's hard to know what to think, born into this madness.. i respect vegans and I want to be one but i don't want to be weak from malnourishment especially in some of the situations I'm in.. i am objective, i am willing to do what ever i feel is right. , "jo" <jo.heartwork wrote:>> Do you not feel sorry for the animals? Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 well, it sounds to me it wasn't because you were vegan you were skinny and felt malnourished. you said you were living in your van. you said you had limited choices, i'm assuming because of lack of funds and knowledge of vegan foods... when i was nigh on homeless and not veggie yet, i weighed 119 lbs... i've been vegan for quite a loong time, and trust me, i weight no where NEAR 119 lbs anymore... its all about your diet and making sure its balanced.... and, i don't think i'm "suffering" because i don't eat flesh, and everyone else does. i no more believe i "limit" myself then if everyone around me drank anti-freeze and i didn't... am i limiting myself because everyone i know smokes? am i limiting myself if i don't do speed or heroin? cheers fraggle Ron Sep 11, 2007 2:49 PM Re: Chinese Medicine 1 I have been vegan to the point I felt like that skinny dog looks in the Photos, of course I had limited choices at that time, I was living in my van. Guest guest Report post Posted September 11, 2007 Ron, there are TONS of yummy foods you can eat as a vegan. You won't go hungry. I discovered foods I never knew existed (which is common), and I actually enjoy cooking now. It's a healthy, compassionate way to live. Guest guest Report post Posted September 12, 2007 Ron <ron.zzxx Tue, 11 Sep 2007 5:26 pm Re: Chinese Medicine 1 good question..... i mean of course, but i don't see that side of things in our modern existense, if i actually had to kill every animal i ate I am sure it would be much different and I hate factory farming..... do i know what it's like to hunt, kill and eat? No I don't.. I do feel sorry for them, of course, and i feel sorry for us so far removed from our pasts.. It's hard to know what to think, born into this madness.. i respect vegans and I want to be one but i don't want to be weak from malnourishment especially in some of the situations I'm in.. i am objective, i am willing to do what ever i feel is right. , "jo" <jo.heartwork wrote: > > Do you not feel sorry for the animals? Guest guest Report post Posted September 12, 2007 Actually, the anemia pre-dates my veganism by about a decade and I was told to eat more meat, which I did...and kept getting sicker. MUCH sicker. Finally, I went vegan. I had huge positive health impacts, in ways I'd never expected. My anemia is very manageable now, I don't even supplement, although I do eat a lot of dark green veggies. LOL You don't need a lot of " fakes " or even nightshades to eat a healthy vegan diet. It's about what you make it, guess that's true of most things really. The thing is making sure you balance everything you need and find interesting ways to make it taste good. I don't have a lot of access to any of the cool vegan stuff I hear about, so I've learned to improvise. A couple of good vegan cookbooks help a LOT too. Even if the recipes aren't exactly what you want, you can adjust them. I don't know what " Vamap " vegan means? For me, being vegan is sooo much easier when I think about all I gain rather than what I am " missing " ... As with any " diet " if you think about all the stuff you don't have you'll just want it more. But, being vegan isn't just about food. It does seem a bit overwhelming at first, but it's much easier once you figure some of the cooking tips out. , " Ron " <ron.zzxx wrote: > > yes, I wonder.. my mother had the same ice/anemia problem.. have to > ask her about that? Guest guest Report post Posted September 12, 2007 Easy to overlook replies the way has these message boards set up. Yes thank you tofuchick.. I made that abbreviation V.A.M.A.P. (vegan as much as possible).. sorry to exhaust the er4yt theories but you are speaking from the body of a person with blood type A and I as yet have heard from someone of type O that is all out vegan, long term. And the medical profession is possibly not wanting to acknowledge any biological differences for certain reasons, thus lumping all people into one category, and this possibly for their (the medical establishments) profit.. MY DEMEANOR: Possible, hypothetically speaking, objective!, thinking, speaking to a virtual think tank, mental stimulation, thirst for knowledge.. , " tofuchick24 " <tofuchick wrote: > > Actually, the anemia pre-dates my veganism by about a decade and I > was told to eat more meat, which I did...and kept getting sicker. > MUCH sicker.
