But I know what you mean...I look at these amazing photos of these RAW dishes and they look great, but they also look like a lot of work! Still, I imagine that it is much healthier for you. Well, maybe. After last year's outbreak of e-coli in the fresh spinach, I'm not sure anything is healthy anymore. It was okay, but not something I would want to do more than once in a while. Hi Tracy, My name is Vicky and I'm fairly new to this group, as well. I rehab wildlife (raccoons, at the moment) so I've been really busy this time of the year. I, too, live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, which has little to nothing "vegan-ish" going on out here!! I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years, and vegan the last 2 years. It is very hard to be sure of what's vegan and what isn't. My son loved the "vegan" marshmallows that were out a few years back, and then they turned out to not exactly be "vegan". That's a pain. Although I LOVE you all for beging vegans, and it means alot to me to actually read about vegans " So, first I'm interested in where you all live, and 2nd, if you're interested, for what reason(s) are you vegan: 1) health 2) moral 3) environment 4) world hunger/food distribution issues 5) other? " I live in WASHINGTON STATE. I do not live with vegans My family taught me to eat meat with every meal. (We're old fashion, and have our German blood in us(not pure German though)) And I am so glad I found out the truth!! I have been vegetarian since November 25th 06. I all in all, since cutting back my meat intake since early 2006 I was 140 in 8th grade and now 116-118 the usual for me And I feel great. I feel ALIVE. I call myself a fruititarian. As I mainly eat fruits, then some veggies and legumes And my Dr. things I am one of the healthiest people she knows, rarely sick. So my health has been very good Moral? Well I for one think animals should not be consumed. I am not 100% against it. But I DO NOT AGREE AND WANT TO DO SOMETHIGN about factory famers, and fishers, and ove rhunters. I dont agree with Farms at ALL, and I think the world would be a better place for THOUSANDS of years to come if we did not raised Animals on farms.. thats just digusting. i wouldnt eat my jewish ancestors from the Holocaust that were treated like farm animals, or farm animals treated liek as though in a Holocaust, so why would I to animals? Eating this only supports animal abuse, which I DO NOT LIKE!! Environment would be better! World hunger would be cured. I am though only vegetarian right now. My friend lives on a farm who gives us chickens eggs, she has over 30 free roaming chickens on 10 acres, and the hens lay everywhere in their nests. So she has over abundance of eggs. I do not eat eggs too much, but I do have an occasional veggies cheese/egg omalet. But I am stopping myself from eating these eggs and its not good for my body. But I figure an occasional egg thats not from a cages battery hen is ok DO NOT drink milk, I am 100% soya nd rice milk baby! Once your on rice milk or soy milk, no way going back, 100% tastier and soooo good!! I dont get stomach cramps and feel like Im bloating on rice milk The only problem I have, as I am a women, a young lady as you would call it, I have my monthly cycles, and I crave chocolate. Or high protien foods. I do eat a lot of soyum products and soy/rice products, but I do eat an occasional chocolate chocolate But I am getting better with myself and I should be doing better Plud with all the chocolate soym products and rice milk.
