Guest guest Report post Posted March 14, 2007 The weather is beautiful again :-) There are now lots of spring flowers blooming, and fresh leaves appearing on trees. We did have a heavy frost this morning, which was also pretty. I have a day off work, which is good :-) Hopefully I'll get a chance to go for a walk. Guest guest Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Hi there! We're not that far along here in Conneticut, but I did notice the first buds on some of out trees poking through, and my crocuses are also pushing through. YAY! Hey, speaking of growing things...do any of you have gardens for fruit and veg? I have a rather small one, but it's one of my passions in the spring and summer. Guest guest Report post Posted March 14, 2007 HI Jolene Thyere are a few people on here who grow their own fruit and veg - I'm sure they will share their experiences with you. We used to grow veg, but the deer and rabbits eat them all! Last year I tried growing flower seedlings and the whole lot, plus my tomato plants and herbs were demolished by slugs and snails! Oh well. Guest guest Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Ah easy friendly solutions! Ok for deer hang out the legs of old panty hose with human hair in them, all around your plants. The deer won't come near them. For slugs put out planks around your plants, then each morning you simpley flip them over and they well be covered relocate the little monsters. You can use shallow pans of beer slugs LOVE it but they are prone to drowning so seriously shallow like wet a plate. Jesus loves you! Ask a question on any topic and get answers from real people.
