to the new folks

welcome

to everyone

THIS IS THE INTERNET

things get misconstrued, misunderstood and misread every second

patty

take a seat

here

*habds you vegan cookie*

welcome to the group

but..it seems yer gettin yer panites in a bunch

and you don't want to do that

virtual wedgies can cause brain farts and worse..

very messy....

anyways

you should understand wot other folks saying

in their (and my) way of lookin at things...veganism can be flippin cheap...

veggies don't cost sh*t

and..its doubtful yer body needs protein

protein is in EVERYTHING!!!

maybe if ya was stuck in some gawd forshaken dungeon and survived off faintly

glowing fungi, then it might happen

but..in the western cultures, a overabundace of protein is the norm/problem

protein is a basic building block..lettuce has protein in it fer bacchus'

sake...

not as much as say, a soybean..but...you get my point

i would hazard to guess at the breif description you have given that

a. yer diet esn't varied enough....

you need more vitamins and minerals in yer diet...and no, i'm not talking

suppliments..there is nuthin lacking in a vegan diet, except maybe b12(dang

modern agriculture), and you can get that in everything from soymilk to

grapenuts...

b. you maybe eating crap

hahahhahha

you said you eat WOW chips

those those lays things

WOW chips...

those are those ones that use that stripped fat..right?

well..if yer basin yer diet around things like that, no wonder yer feelin

icky...

you want to eat cheaply?

go to the store

get some pasta..plain old everyday dried pasta...cappelini, fusilli..wotever

makes you happy..

get some rice..a big bag..not uncle bens er anything..head to an asian market if

you need to

get some olive oil

soy sauce

and pick up frsh fruit

vegetables...

now...mix and match things...

steam some veggies and serve them with pasta and olive oil..a lil garlic fer a

kick

wotever...

i just fed you fer a week..on $20..

now..i need to ask

wot were ya doin at a seafood place?

i assume with friends??

umm

couldn't you just said no?

meet em later somewhere else??

good luck on yer veganny path

cheers

Thanks Fraggle,

That is what I am talking about. I know a vegan diet is completly

healthy. Only I think mine was not. I am used to having it all

prepared for me and I am not doing a very good job preparing it for

myself. Yes I agreee WOW chips, never again! I guess I just wanted

some advice to expand my vegan diet on a budget. I do believe you

need a good source of protein in your diet and lettuce won't give it

to you. So beans and nuts and tofu. Which I neen to eat a lot more

of. Doesn't your body feel like it's craving something that is

lacking. I am not talking about meat or dairy it's more of vitamins

you are not getting. Like if all I eat is pasta and rice I am not

going to feel good bc I am not eating enough beans and tofu and just

other types of food. And as for why i was in a seafood restaurant,

being Vegan is a choice I have made not the people I socialize with.

My boyfriend is a huge meat eater and he always tries my vegan stuff

and is one of the few big suppoters and understands why I am vegan.

But it is his coice not to be one and if he can accompany me to all

my vegan places I can go with him to a reataurant of his choice. I

know there is no way to live a completly enviormentally safe life in

modern times. But you can try your hardest. Thanks fraggle you have

been very helpful. Sorry if I seemed to get my panties all in a

knot. It's hard to express exactly what you are talkin about if you

can't hear the tone of the person. Patty
