Guest guest
How the Recipes Files Work Hi Everyone and welcome to all the new members. Just a quick reminder and an explanation for all the new members on how our " Files " section works. Our Files can be found by clicking on " Files " on left hand side of our homepage. -OR- -OR- you'll find the link at the bottom of each email Every recipe that is, or has ever been posted, is placed in the " Files " in the folder named " ***Recipes Posted to VGF*** " . (I'm a little behind with this so if you have posted recently the recipe won't be in there yet.) Inside this folder, which is like an enormous recipe book, you'll find folders with all the major category groups. Inside these are sub-category folders, plus an index for the major category. Some categories have even more sub-categories depending on how many recipes there are. eg. Files > ***Recipes Posted to VGF*** > Bread (Major category) > (All the sub category folders below) Bread Machine Recipes Banana Bread Corn Bread Flat Bread and Foccacias Fruit and Raisin Bread Loaves - Yeast Free Loaves - Yeasted Raw Bread Rolls, Bagels and Pretzels Sweet Rolls, Buns and Donuts Index for Bread Inside all of these folders are all the recipes of that type. When I post recipe names I'll often include the pathway to the recipes. For example to find a cookie recipe : eg. Files > ***Recipes Posted to VGF*** > Cookies, Cakes and Confectionery > Cookies, Slices, Brownies etc > Cookies. So you go to the Files, open the " ***Recipes Posted to VGF*** " folder, then the " Cookies, Cakes and Confectionery " folder, then Cookies, Slices, Brownies etc " , and finally " Cookies " . - Each major category (eg. Mains) has an index which you will find at the bottom of the folder, or in some cases (such as the salad folder) at the below the list of folders. Some categories will have 2 or more indexes due to their size. - For those using the metric system, all the conversions are given also. In addition alternative names are included also. eg. a salad that contains arugula, will list " arugula (rocket) " as the ingredient because it's called rocket in Australia. - Those recipes that are soy-free have " SF " beside their name. Those that can be very easily converted to soy-free (eg. by changing the milk type) have " *SF " beside them. - Some recipes also have " TNT " beside the name. These are just a handful of the tried-and-true recipes we have. They are mostly the recipes I make most often. - Any recipes that have been tried and commented on will have the comments below the recipe. - Towards the bottom of the major category list you'll find a " Contents " file which gives an overview of all the categories. There's also a folder with information on the abbreviations used (which are the same throughout the recipes), plus information for all the Aussies out there. - There are also overall Indexes (in letter and A4) for all the recipes in the files (although it is a few months old and doesn't include any recent recipes). They are a whopping 157 pages for A4 and 171 pages for letter sized paper. I hope all that makes sense. If you haven't had a look yet, please do. We have thousands of recipes. Plus check out the " Links " , " Database " and " Photos " sections too. There is also a folder of tried and true recipes with photos in PDF format that can printed off in " Recipes with Photos " . Any questions, please ask. If you can't find something you're after just holler, I may know where to find it Oh, and we always welcome new recipes. So if you have any that are vegan and GF, we would love you to share. Kim
