Guest guest
Hi Barry I like them. They're really good as a protein content in stir-fries, kormas, curries, etc. etc. and pretty good on their own too! :-) Not tried Tesco mock chicken. I do like the mock duck from our local Chinese Supermarket "Wai Yee Hong"! BB Peter - Barry Orr Thursday, August 21, 2008 6:20 PM Re:What's for dinner tonight? Guest guest
They are extremely tasty - I like to stock up on them as they go so fast from our local health store. You can eat them straight from the packet too :-) Jo - Barry Orr Thursday, August 21, 2008 6:20 PM Re:What's for dinner tonight? What do you think of the Redwoods chicken pieces? Guest guest
Don't know - it's such a long time since I tasted animal flesh. I don't mind what they call them as long as they are tasty and versatile, and all the Redwoods items are exactly that. Guest guest
I know: if I get the Redwoods ones, I tend to devour them straight from the pack (fast)! Some of my omnivore friends might not be convinced, but I definitely am! Any other vegan meat analogues ppl are fond of? I like the Redwoods sausages also: straight out the pack are gorgeous. Oh, as to original query, tonight I had grilled flat top mushrooms in bun, with mustard on top, along with grilled aubergine sprinkled with garlic. Really nice. Along with fruit smoothie of strawberries, blueberries and soya milk. And they say vegans are deprived... whatever Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger. Guest guest
Hi Fraggle I reckon you would like them - they are tasty but different to the sausages. Jo Re: Re:What's for dinner tonight? don't think i've had em, but we loved the redwood sausages we had last year!
Guest guest
We even made a creamy soup with them as there had been a chicken soup we used to like when we were omnivorous. It turned out really well. Jo , " Peter " <metalscarab wrote: > > Hi Barry > > I like them. Guest guest
I like the Redwoods roasts, sausages, and chickeny bits best, but their garlic sausage, chorizo, pates etc. are all really good. I'm quite pleased that they have lowered their salt content, as it was high at one time. Brilliant company - they deserve acclaim. As you say, the chickeny bits are really handy to take for a picnic or day out. Your dinner sounds delicious. Vegans are definitely not deprived! :-) Jo , Barry Orr <fire-child wrote: > > I know: if I get the Redwoods ones, I tend to devour them straight from the pack (fast)! Guest guest
I had a veggie burger while my husband had a real burger; last night we had tacos (bean for me and beef for him); the night before we had pasta with marinara sauce (husband's had sausage); tomorrow I'm going to try a frozen veggie meal (fake meatloaf) and he's going to have chicken. Our meals are pretty easy since neither of us can really cook, and we have to do meals to accommodate a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian. , " heartwerk " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > It's a while since anyone asked this, so what are you having for > dinner? > > Nothing unusual for us - probably spaghetti bolognese made with red > lentils. Guest guest
It sounds as though it's working well. Sometimes we like to cook, and sometimes we used the veggie sausages etc. Whatever works ..... Jo - Krysten Friday, August 22, 2008 8:37 AM Re: What's for dinner tonight? Guest guest
One thing non vegies usually share without having to alter is a vegetable chili made with either bulgar wheat/minced tofu or soya "mince" beef analogue. Guest guest
Good morning this fine Wednesday. Just getting ready for work and wondering what I will make us all for dinner tonight. Hoping for some inspiration... nothing even sounds appealing right now except for this cup of coffee in my hand. So, what will you be having for dinner tonight? ~ PT ~ Whenever you are confronted with an opponent conquer him with love. ~ Mohandas Karamchand [Mahatma] Gandhi (1869-1948)
Guest guest
My husband is on a fast for a few days and since he's not totally vegetarian, I can indulge myself. I'm not sure but I'm thinking I'll defrost some lentil loaf, bake a sweet potato and steam a bit of broccoli for colour. It's not a fancy meal but it's what I love to eat. Of course if DH was eating today, I would do the same meal - minus the lentil loaf but add in fish. I hate the smell of fish cooking but what's a wife to do when her husband loves his fish? Tomorrow I'm going to make another batch of chick pea cutlets and have one on a bun for lunch with lettuce, mayo and ?? cranberry sauce. That's making my mouth water just thinking of it. Supper tomorrow night will be something curried!!! another of my faves that is less well tolerated by DH. He thinks it upsets me when he fasts. I smile and sing and dance around the kitchen making a meal just for myself. Can't he tell I'm happy? Just writing about the chick pea cutlets has me convinced that today is when I should be making them for my lunch. I hope everyone has sunshine today. Guest guest
I'm having a bottle of red wine....it was that kind of day. I've been in a cooking rut lately. I'm so stressed out and tired that I haven't been cooking anything new or interesting. I can't wait until the farmers' market opens a little later this month....all the fresh produce will inspire me...hopefully.
