What I recall from Esselstyn's book is 10% for disease reversal, 20% for disease prevention. My husband yesterday was asking me how many fat grams he should have (200 pounds, exercises every day) and I calculated the 10% figure at 33 grams (or a bit more -- calorie need calculators vary; this is the low figure). If I'm wrong I want to know! Diane

I don't remember reading anything like that either, at least not from Esselstyn. In " Prevent adn Reverse Heart Disease " , for example, Esslestyn says that " a diet made up of the foods on the 'approved' list in Chapter 8 will contain approximately 10% fat. That level ...is ideal for good health. So if he is on a 2,000 calorie/day diet, he should not be eating more than 200 calories of fat, including the calories of fat that are already in the foods he is eating. At 9 calories/gram, that's about 22 grams of fat/day. Hope this helps- MEC
