Does anyone know of a protein powder that does not contain eggs or dairy

products? If so, what is it called and where can I get it?

Thanks.

Best I've had is Vega. Whole food carries it, but it is pricey so I mix in Trader Joe's hemp protein.

Sarah,

I have purchased and not used yet, Garden of Life Raw Protein. It is

vegan and was told by my local Whole Foods Store, that overall it is a

good product.

I will start this week using it in smoothies and etc.

It is not in my local WF store yet....

www.gardenoflife.com there they have a store finder for their products.

Good luck and let us know how you like it, if you decide to try this

product.

Hi Sarah - I am vegan and have been using Nature's Plus Spiru-tein for years now. I really love it. I am looking at the container now for their Raspberry Royale flavor. It says it is gluten Free, Yeast Free. It contains spirulina, non-GMO soy, rice and pea for the protein. It is also loaded with vitamins and minerals. It says it is vegetarian (does not specify vegan), yet when I read the list of ingredients, I don't see anything that looks like a vegan offender. It comes in umteen flavors, most of which I really enjoy. You can get it at several local type health food stores, Vitamin Shoppe, and an online discount site called Vitacost (they have great prices on it). Whole Foods Market doesn't carry it anymore. Said they had a falling out with them, and they have push their own store brand

instead. I tried it, and it didn't even come close. I have been spoiled!!!If anyone has any information that shows that Spiru-tein is not vegan, please advise me, but I believe it fits the bill, and YUUUUUUMMMMMM!Sue--- On Sun, 3/28/10, Sarah Navarro <navarrosarah wrote:Sarah Navarro <navarrosarah Looking for Protein powder"undisclosed recipients" <navarrosarahSunday, March 28, 2010, 6:14 PM

I bought mine in health store but be careful. People tend to overdose with

it. We only need about 10% of daily calorie intake of protein and we get it

in non diary milk, and some veggies as well and getting extra can crash

your liver and kidney. I know people who have chronic kidney problems and

doctor won't tell them that this is because of protein.

Note family doctors don't usually have proper nutrition training.

Hi, I am in the USA but I do appreciate the offer. I have gotten a lot of

response to my email and I am sure I will be able to find something now. I

will probably try a few different ones to see which I like. I will post the

results after I purchase some and try it. So very nice of you to offer.

Thank you.

They're not vegan. The Spiru-Tein shake products all contain bee pollen.

The second ingredient in most of them is also sugar. Depending upon the flavor,

you end up with as many grams of sugar as grams of protein per serving.

Vega has some-100% vegan. It is pretty expensive stuff though. Buy single packets and see if you like it. http://sequelnaturals.com/vega Some Whole Foods locations carry it, and probably other health food stores as well. Call around to your local shops and see if they carry it or not.LifeTime Life Basics -most of their flavors are kind of gross, but the vanilla one is acceptable, and it is also vegan. Their other flavors may or may not be (haven't tried all of them, but people at the health food store said they were gross). It is made with Pea, hemp & rice powder and Chia seeds. Just google it & I'm sure you can find it at a lot of places. If you can find it in your local health food store, maybe buy a single packet to try it out first & see if you like it before buying a big bucket, as you may not be able to return

it.

Thanks for the info - I knew they had some sugar, though, as you said, some more than others. As a new vegan years ago, I was geared to looking for meat and dairy products, and didn't realize bee pollen was a vegan no no. I don't look at the ingredients much these days, as I have consumed it for so long now, so didn't remember it being there. Even when I was reading the label to post yesterday, I missed it somehow. Truth be known, even if I had seen it, I doubt it would have hindered me from using it, as I guess I'm not totally convinced that it is an issue for my version of vegan diet. I don't see it coming FROM the animal, as milk from a cow, etc. I am aware that many consider it to be non-vegan, but I guess I just don't totally understand why. Anyone game to explain it to me? I've heard it explained as an animal exploitation issue. The pollen is collected

by the bees for the bees' use, then humans come along and take it for their

purposes, leaving the bees to start over again. We can get along just fine

without it.

we should prob be asking the question..... " why do you need protein powder? "

Read T Colin Campbell. We dont need that much protein and we get it from fruits,

veg, and the starches we eat.

Remember human breast milk is only 5% protein!! Most fruits veggies fall between

10-12% protein. ADEQUATE levels!

Save your money on the protein supplements and buy whole fresh organic foods!!!

Just my thoughts.

If interested in this consider taking the CORNELL UNIV. and T Colin Campbell

CERTIFICATE IN PLANT BASED NUTRITION class. It was phenominal. Best course I

have ever taken
