Guest guest
Hi Everybody, I'm sharing this information with Bay Area Vegetarians members sent to me by a friend, even though it's not about a strictly local issue. It's about a new web site: www.buykind.com. Although we are very fortunate in the SF Bay Area to have so many veg*n restaurants, some of you may live in outlying areas or be busy enough that you'd like meals delivered or have a work place that would be willing to order a Friday lunch for the workers. My friend who sent the information (see forwarded email below) lives in a college town in Oregon with only one vegan restaurant. I checked out the web site and so far the offerings do not appeal to me but it's planned to add more restaurants. Anyway, I like supporting all vegan businesses so I'm sharing this information in case anyone is either interested or might know of others who would be interested. Take care. Bye for now. There is a web site called Buykind.com. Through this site you can get food delivered to your door from vegan restaurants all over the country. There are currently 5 restaurants and more coming soon. This site was started by a wonderful kind woman who rescued 5 goats from a terrible situation, now her precious babies. ( the story is on the site). She made the connection, went vegan, and has started this business. A mimimum of 10% of the profits go to help animals. In addition, in a few weeks the restaurant Sublime will be on the site. Sublime is owned by Nanci Alexander ( a major supporter of PCRM.) 100% of the profits of Sublime go to help animals. So it's a good business to support, and you can get good food without having to cook. Also there is a variety of food for different tastes ( from fake bacon cheeseburgers to salads. She hopes to get a raw restaurant and more eventually.) I haven't ordered yet, but intend to very soon. The restaurants like to have 48 hours notice, and delivery days are Thur and Fri. You have to pay shipping too, but when you eat out you have to pay a tip. I recently connected with the owner, and she is a very kind, sweet soul.
