Guest guest
Hi friends, Please join us for our next volunteer workday, held in conjunction with East Bay Animal Advocates (http://www.eastbayanimaladvocates.org/) and Bay Area Vegetarians (http://bayareaveg.org). Our next volunteer date is Saturday, July 14, 2007, from 10:00-2:00. Harvest Home was formed to aid homeless and abused domestic and farmed animals in the San Francisco Bay Area and the San Joaquin valley. We assist local humane societies and rescue groups with animals-primarily farmed animals-who, due to their breed, their health, or their personality, cannot be adopted into permanent homes. To rsvp and find out more about this event, please email Karen. Thank you all so much, Margo DeMello margo Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary www.harvesthomeanimal.org 209-465-2985 p.s. The temps are in the triple digits here and it's always the chickens who look (and feel) the worst. After flooding the ground and deck, misting the birds and the inside of the barn, putting up bamboo screening on the top and sides of the run, turning on the fans inside the barn, changing the waters and pools when they get warm and watering the crap (literally) out of the lawn, Karen set up this great new system to keep them cool. She took an old fan and attached a misting ring to it which keeps them much cooler.
