Guest guest
PETA has released a new undercover investigation, with a video, and it is a particularly good one if you have religious (but non-veg) friends and family. A Catholic monastery was investigated for their treatment of chickens. It is narrated by a devout Catholic and mentions Biblical teachings. It's the front page of www.PETA.org <www.peta.org>. I think the issue of religion and kindness to animals can be very messy, and I often avoid it. I can give 10 examples where the Bible talks about kindness to animals, but a Christian can hurl 10 examples of " It's OK to eat meat " right back at me. It turns into a contest about who knows the Bible better and how the Bible is interpreted, and the animals are left far behind. However--if you are religious, or you have religious family members, and/or you're comfortable with these discussions, there are some great resources out there: http://www.jesusveg.com/links.html (links to several different websites covering all the major different religions) Just FYI.
