Guest guest
Please see the message below from lauren Ornelas, formerly of Viva, now with Compassion Over Killing, a fantastic group in DC (www.cok.net) Please get back to her at the email address below if you would like to be involved in this important effort! Nora COK is hoping to organize events around the country on National Hot Dog Day. The National Meat Institute is hosting their own hot dog give-away on this day in DC at the Capitol, on Wednesday, July 19. We are wondering if you might be able to coordinate something in your area. It could be bringing in veggie dogs for your class if you are a teacher, having a veggie dog giveaway at your school, if you live near the State Capitol doing something there or if you know a local chain that sells hot dogs, doing it right there! This is a great opportunity for us to speak out for mother pigs who are kept in tiny crates so small they can't walk or even turn around! We hope you will join us. What we will do: * We are going to test various veggie dogs to see which ones pass the taste test to meat eaters the best and then we will contact the company to see if they are interested in assisting. Either way, we will help with the cost of the dogs. * We will also be able to send you literature about the suffering of mother pigs in gestation crates, as well as our Vegetarian Starter Guide and recipe booklets. * And of course, help you with ideas & questions. We know it might be tough to do something on a Wednesday, but it wouldn't take much time. Let me know ASAP what you think and if you can join us!
