This is a very serious situation and letters of protest are needed NOW (contact info below). I don't know if any of you have personal experience with Friends for Life "Rescue" - but I do. I have every reason to believe they are affiliated with Second Chance "Rescue" and are just as horrible, in my opinion. I have personally been to adoption events and saw them bus in LOTS of dogs in filfthy condition and unvetted. I saw sick dogs, unaltered dogs. I saw dogs stacked crate upon crate in this green bus and I swear the animals looked right at me as if to say "HELP ME PLEASE." I walked away crying, because I knew there was nothing I could do to help those poor souls. I saw them do ON THE SPOT ADOPTIONS. Here is what some others have said: (I didn't write this but was there and SAW this too) - "The dogs were filthy when we saw her outside of Petco, and she said she doesn't believe in fostering. I was upset about her adopting on the spot and said the dogs could end up on chains, and she said it's better than being killed in the shelters. That one black pit bull was doomed...was dirty, I don't think he was altered, she had him in a cage too small, and he was going bananas." and..... "What I find really frightening is that these 'special' needs dogs are placed with same day, cash and carry 'adoptions' without any home visits. I have seen how they treat the dogs on the bus, squirting them in the face while they bark in their crates. I can understand them having anxiety issues. Four adoption events a day??? " and....."Interesting too how many of the dogs are listed as special needs with anxiety issues andhow many others are listed as alpha females, dont get along with other dogs, etc. One of the dogs description goes something like "he runs with a pack of unadoptables" ....sounds too weird like shades of Second Chance??? I cant imagine how you would effectively handle all of these special needs dogs at once without a huge staff / facility" and..... "....However, their website says enough for me to want them closed down permanently. I really can't believe every night they bring 50+ dog into a house and crate them. They WILL NOT let anyone come to their 'santuary' or know exactly where it is." Many dogs have been sent to this disgusting excuse for a rescue. I know of one shelter who continues to send them dogs - nice dogs - and IT NEEDS TO STOP for the sake of the animals! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send your POLITE letters of protest to Mr. Domer at Hdomer@fredco- md.net Ask him to PLEASE stop sending dogs to this so called rescue. If you have personal knowledge of this "rescue" please tell him what you know and let him know why it is hurting, not helping, the dogs who are sent there. Looks like another "guilt by association" DNA here.... Sorry, I wouldn't waste my time cross posting unless there is PROOF, and this lacks a great deal of that. Sure, Second Chance is bad but I see nothing about the other--no public documents, no pics, no police records--NOTHING.
