Guest guest
On Saturday, April 2nd, Bay Area Vegetarians is planning a road trip to Guerneville to enjoy brunch at Sparks (a small organic, vegan restaurant), followed by a hike in beautiful & serene Armstrong Redwoods. We've recently become aware that the town of Guerneville is bitterly divided over the issue of humans using fur. Many of the merchants and local community have come out as strongly pro-fur. Just FYI, I do not know which merchants are pro-fur. By the way, the purpose of this email is to clarify the situation regarding our trip to Sparks. It is *not* intended to fuel or spark a debate over Guerneville. I have been warned that this attitude may not be especially friendly to vegans or folks who are pro-animals/anti-fur. And, in light of the merchants attitude, supporting certain businesses may also be a political statement (i.e. some folks may want to avoid spending money at a business that is pro fur) While I recognize that Sparks is a restaurant/business, and not a charity, I think now, more than ever, they'd probably love to see a crowd of smiling veggie faces hungry for their yummy food. So, if you want to take a trip with like-minded folks to enjoy good food & veggie fellowship at Sparks, followed by a (free) hike in the majestic redwoods, then please join us! We had a wonderful trip last year, and you can see photos from last years trip in our photos gallery http://www.bayareaveg.org/gallery/sparks04 Please use the evite to respond or see full event details... feel free to invite your friends to join us! http://www.evite.com//roadtrip Cheers, Tammy Be Active with BAV!
