Canoe Down the Russian River this Saturday, September 25th

A few of us are going to canoe down the Russian River this Saturday, Sept 25th - and we're inviting you to join us.

 

We'll meet at Burkes Canoes (www.burkescanoetrips.com ) at 10:30am.

 

Burke's provides your canoe, paddles, and life jackets for the day for a total of just $50.00 per canoe. ($25 per person) Beginning at Burke's near Forestville, you paddle leisurely down-stream to the resort town of Guerneville. This is a gorgeous ten mile trip through redwoods, mountains and warm sunny beaches. The wildlife on the Russian River is spectacular. Have fun viewing great blue heron, osprey, egrets, river otters, turtles and more. You can comfortably do this trip in approximately 3 ½ hours, actual canoeing time. We plan on stopping to picnic, swim, sunbath, etc. so the trip will probably be 4 or 5 hours.

Bring some vegan snacks to share - in a water proof cooler / container :-)

A shuttle will pick us up and take us back to our cars.

Spark's Restaurant, a delicious vegan restaurant, is located in Guerneville. They are open on Saturday from 10am - 3pm and then again from 5:30 - 9pm. (www.sparksrestaurant.com) We may get to Guerneville in time for a brunch visit - or you may want to visit the redwoods or the town of Guerneville, and stay around for a 5:30 dinner.
