Guest guest
Paris Harvey <bitebackvegan Mon, 13 Sep 2004 12:08:23 -0700 (PDT) <bitebackvegan > Foie Gras VICTORY in Process!!! Great news! The restaurant Chapeau, our focus of the 9/4 " Walk Out " on Clement in San Francisco, has " verbally " committed to removing foie gras from its menu. We have a mediator that is in dialogue with the owner who has been asked to sign the www.nofoiegras.org " Pledge Form " . If he does, and removes it from his menu after 2 weeks, this COMMITMENT will be published on the website, listed with all the many other Bay Area Restaurants who have done so and published in the SF Chronicle letters to the editor. This will be a win/win/win situation for all...for the 10's of thousands of ducks and geese tortured every day of their lives, us activists, as caring individuals and Chapeau as a wise, humane and caring decision for their menu, which will lead to more customers in the end. It is for that reason that we are going to POSTPONE the demo on 9/17...BUT we will be instead using this time slot to demo at 4:30 at GARY DANKO 800 North Point SF (@ Hyde St) The demonstrations at Chapeau will continue if after 2 weeks they have not stopped serving. (the owner stated he still has a couple of weeks in house to use up...fair enough!) Again the following foie gras demo schedule for your reference posted here and at bitebackvegan (many other events listed there as well...) 9/18 Sat 5PM Aqua Restaurant: 252 California St SF 94111 Demo 9/25 12 noon: French Laundry Restaurant: 6640 Washington St Yountville 94599 Car Pools forming...this is a demo not a walk out If Chapeau does not sign the pledge and remove we will demo on Sat 10/9 at 4:30 PM...please pencil it in! Thank you for all your support and commitment in ending this terrible cruelty... PS: Think veal too...look for it at the restaurants you come across and let me add them to my list. We will be starting these demos soon. Paris Harvey Join us for a demo at San Francisco City Hall Steps Fri 10/1 12-2 & 4-6. (not 10/2!) voice your hottest cruelty issue on the bull horn, banners, posters, props...media!
