Guest guest
Thanks, Bob, for the reminder! I'd like to add once again, that New World restaurant is BART close! Take the Richmond or Pittsburgh BayPoint line to the 12 St. station in Oakland. Head for the 11 St. exit from the station. Continue heading south, toward 8th St. Turn west or right onto 8th St. New World is a few doors down on the right. Easy! Just a few blocks from BART, a relaxing ride, and no parking hassles. Marcy (And no, I don't work for BART!) ************** =) Sunday August 17, 2003 at 6PM. New World Vegetarian Restaurant, 464-8th Street, Downtown Oakland. Please RSVP by 6PM Friday August 15th in order to ensure setting aside of appropriate number of tables. Invitation to those who have enjoyed Bode, (early 90's) and then New World Vegetarian Restaurant in the past, as well as those who would like to try it for the first time. New World recently re-opened after extensive kitchen and interior remodeling, with lovely dark cherrywood-appearing tables and refinished floors, and a kitchen at least twice as large as before. I spoke recently to staff about ingredients in their mock " meats " and after their assurance and showing me ingredient labels I'm confident that they are using only those with vegan ingredients. They do have a few non vegan desserts made outside the restaurant and will encourage them to make the same efforts to find great locally made vegan desserts instead. Additional information below. I await your RSVP's!
