Holiday eating

I wanted to comment on the issue of eating meals with the SAD eaters. First of all, remember they are a million miles away from where you are and if they comment on your seaweed - it OK. Don't take it personal, they just don't have the insight yet. I laugh and lovingly joke that I am just sooo weird and so glad they still love me. I also make a point to thank them for letting me bring what I need and really appreciating that they understand (even if they don't really). Remember, just as you might be offended if someone brought cooked animal carcass into your house because they didn't want to eat your food, they may be hurt that you don't want their food. Secondly, don't punish yourself by not showing up (unless, of course, you really don't want to), but if you want to see friends and family, then go - stand strong, tell everyone you really want to visit with them and don't want to argue about food, and go about being warm and friendly.

Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Nancy
