International Animal Fighting

Campaign - Update

With events already in place around the world, HSI is gearing up for the

launch of the International Animal Fighting Campaign. As many of you

may already know, many countries celebrate World Animal Day, October

4th. This year, the Bahamas, Barbados, Egypt, Peru, Philippines,

Romania, South Africa, and the United States, among others, will team up

against animal fighting. Animal fighting awareness events, such as

seminars, dog walks, rallies, and lobbying activity will be held

simultaneously around the globe to connect the animal protection groups

with one voice; a stronger voice.

Thousands of animals are tortured, maimed, and killed each year for

human entertainment. The suffering is immense and is reason alone to

consider these acts cruel beyond measure. People also suffer as they

become addicted to gambling and drug activity, allow their children to

witness life scarring events, and carry a higher chance of becoming

violent with humans. The issue negatively impacts all citizens,

regardless of their respect for animals.

HSI, while planning the American event, will continue to develop

electronic resources, like the new logo, and updates that will be

available on our website: www.hsihsus.org. Participating organizations

are welcome to use the logo and adapt it as necessary to their local

event. In addition, we will have animal fighting information in the form

of fact sheets available soon online.

Your help is needed to fight this brutality! We hope you will join this

global activity and host an animal fighting awareness event during the

week of World Animal Day.

Register your event with hsi today. Questions are welcome.

Thank you so much for the info. OAARS will definitely start planning for it and

hopefully make more people aware of this brutal sport.

Thanks to members on this forum we have received information to present to Govt.

officials in Okinawa about the cruelty of using gas as a method of euthanizing

these animals.

I learned so much from Everyone at the Asia for Animals Conference, am already

planning for a future conference.

Best Regards,

Liz
