A police spokeswoman said campaigners were " peacefully removed " from Crown land opposite the Steritech site at Narangba, where a camp was set up nine months ago. Police attended the site about 5am (AEST) today on directions from the State Development Department. " There was a concern for the safety of the protesters as they had begun digging holes below ground which may have collapsed and threatened lives, " the spokeswoman said. The three anti-nuclear protesters on site were escorted off without incident and the camp dismantled by police, the spokeswoman said. Quote
