Guest guest Posted February 5, 2001 Report Posted February 5, 2001 China Daily - 5th February 2001 A 21-year-old tiger mother in Northeast China's Shenyang is expected to give birth today with doctors and nurses fully prepared to deliver. The tiger, Meimei, has shown some early signs of birthing, said Ye Qingbai, manager of the city's Guaipo Tiger Centre, where the pregnant " mother " lives. " Because the tiger belongs to the Siberian tiger family and is ferocious, we can't check her without anesthetizing, " said Zhao Wei, chief of the No. 202 Hospital of Shenyang Military Region. Quote
