That overnight tricky sounds really good, I think I'll try it tonight.

I have a container of some steel cut oats that have been just sitting

around. I have always been too impatient in the morning to wait for

them to cook, and defaulted on the instant kind. I don't really like

the instant, but I would add so much to it to try and give it texture,

like ground flax seeds and wheat germ, protein powder and cinnamon

that it covered it up. But with the overnight method, it sounds like

I can have the best of both worlds, tasty and quick!

Welcome, John! <<waving>> It's great to see you here.

We love our veggies and grains and beans and lentils and....so much

good stuff out there to try <smile>.

To get some idea of what might interest you, I'd suggest checking out

some old posts -- see if any subject lines jump out at you.

If you want to check out the protein values of various veggie protein

sources, click on the Files link to the left of the message area of

the list. There's a file called List of Vegetarian Protein Sources.

I think it's really helpful.

In that same Files section there's also a folder of recipes. I

haven't tried any of these. They also might give you some ideas.

And of course you're most welcome and encouraged to post questions and

recipe ideas! Cinzia

welcome John!

I like bean based lunches myself but I am careful as my body needs

non- vegetarian proteins. But I do like my beans, its the variety.

so my favourite is bean and tomato stew, or redbean thai curry for

example.

theres a paste we can get in UK - sharwoods green or red Thai. I

brown some onions and veg, add red kidney beans, thai paste and

coconut milk, thicken with ground almonds and its very nice. I do

find it a challenge getting the protein grams so when eating this way

I'll have some greek yogurt or feta cheese for afters.

Mosaic-

that sounds wonderful!

I love thai flavorered things.

since being on the program I've resisted thai food b/c of MSG warnings and all

that.

Of course mostly I hear about msg with chinese food.

anyhow, i'm alot less afraid of food now anyway and i've learned to trust my

body's

instincts pretty well.

Beans have always beena staple of mine.

recently I cut back on them b/c of some digestive problems.

but i really love them so I want to see if possibly certain types of beans are

easier on my

system than others.

recently i had some garbanzo beans and had no ill effects.

I love the sound of your thai style bean dish.

I want to try it out!
