Guest guest
>>>> Chrism: Would you post here some of the material concerning your interest in the Quantum experience, that is on OOBE - if you are comfortable doing so. - <<<< - this is another subject that I could get VERY carried away with! LOL! I just don't want people to think, " Oh no, another post from Deb going on and on and on! " I realize I have a problem with that! I am by no means an expert in quantum physics. I can't imagine how anyone would have the time to become one. I have read a few books and had a few conversations, and that's about it. I know just enough to be slightly dangerous! I will try to summerize some of what I do know (or think I know.) People who have read my posts on OBE forum might want to just skip over this one because it would be repetitive. I totally understand about that time shortage / have a life thing! I have the same problem. But, my understanding is that there are, what I call, " consciousness realms. " (And these ideas I have gotten from others; I'm sorry to say I'm not brilliant enough to have thought them up myself.) There are the conscious (waking awareness), subconscious (mass consciousness/astral/dreams), and superconscious (beyond blocks/filters/limited perceptions/also astral and dreams.) The levels of awareness are alpha (totally awake), beta (relaxed, semi-awake), theta (subconscious, dreaming) and delta (superconscious, mostly unconscious.) Being able to tap into the deeper levels, I believe, has something to do with the strength of the connections between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. When this begins to happen, unconscious beliefs that drive our behavior come to the surface of awareness. This is not always pleasant - which is something I wanted to mention to Elektra about her unpleasant dreams she has recently experienced. I have experienced similar dreams. But they do serve a purpose - to bring those beliefs that are driving our behavior into our awareness, so that we can recognize them and release them. The best way to do this is to realize that these are the things that we have the most resistence to, and to learn how to let go of this resistence by stepping back and " witnessing " it with detachment. (These ideas I got from Bill Harris.) Sometimes this can happen spontaneously during a trauma, when one detaches and observes, as if watching a movie. This happened to me right after the hurricane. I detached emotionally, focussed on what needed to be done, and had this " knowing " that I had somehow " cast myself into this play. " Many people have experienced this by having a spontaneous OBE. Other issues are not so obvious, because they are buried deep, beyond conscious awareness. And the issues that we relate to as most " personal " to us, are the most difficult ones to let go of that resistence. For example, if someone else's child gets involved with criminal activity, we do not take it as personally as if it were our own child. So, we resist it more, we tend to " fight against it. " My personal belief is that we make unconscious choices from a spiritual level that is beyond our awareness. I compare this to the " cards we are dealt " when we are born. Such as our parents, home environment, siblings, color of our skin, etc. I think of it as a CD video game. I think of it as we have chosen certain issues to deal with or lessons to learn. Kind of like picking a college major. How we play that game is conscious. This is where we have control, influence over the outcome that relates to our purpose. This is what Mike is referring to when he talks about " collapsing a reality. " There are an infinite number of outcomes possible when playing the video game, but which one we experience, or collapse, depends on our beliefs, focus, emotions, conditioning, expectations, etc. In quantum physics, they call it parallel realities, and the one we " experience " or " collapse " depends on the " observer mode " that we are " expecting " to see. So to experience a better reality, we have to release those beliefs that we are resisting, and focus on, with emotion, the outcome that we prefer. The challenge for me is to trust and come to expect that the universe will bring to us this preferred outcome, rather than to come to expect the outcome that is most feared. Something to keep in mind this hurricane season. Chaos occurs when a breakdown of beliefs or resistence is brought into our awareness. However, quantum physics has proven that there is a higher intelligence that reorganizes this chaos into a higher order of awareness. Either there is a complete breakdown and change to another form, or there is a reorganization to a higher order. This appears to be the natural order of things. So, hitting bottom forces us to reorganize back up to a higher place than we were before. I used the example of a bouncing ball before - the harder we hit the pavement, the higher up we will go. One more important aspect of quantum physics is the Holographic Theory. If you slice a hologram into many pieces, each piece will contain the whole. For example, a hologram of an apple - if sliced into pieces, each piece will contain the whole apple. (This idea comes from Michael Talbott's book, " The Holographic Universe. " ) Two physicists discovered this at the same time, one (Karl Pilbram) in relation to the brain and the other (David Bohm) in relation to the universe. What this implicates is that the " Whole " (of Consciousness) contains all of the individual parts (our individual perceptions), while at the same time, each of us individually contains access to the " Whole " - the All. This is how we are connected. This is how we pick up information from each other. This is how we influence each other. There are a lot more theories in quantum physics than these, but this is a summary of what we can go into much more detail about if we were to study quantum physics in depth.
