Guest guest Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Hi Rain,  Thank you so much for this information. Using the link didn't work for me but by playing around a bit I came up with this  http://bookmine.tesuji.eu/gutenberg/searchResults.do?query=cookery & offset=0  which is the entire list of cookery books. I then refined the search by adding 'old' and came up with a shorter list. I also refined it with 'vegetarian' and came up with some very interesting material. I was unable to find a way to eliminate ALL books with a reference to 'old' from my search so many books on the list are nothing to do with cooking. I tried putting my search term in inverted commas and also tried old + recipe but it still didn't restrict the results to cookbooks.  I think my favourite find so far is this English vegetarian cook book dated 1891. Apart from the recipes I love looking at all the old advertisements.  http://www.gutenberg.org14594/14594-h/14594-h.htm  Thank you again. This is going to be great resource.  Cheers from Marie --- On Wed, 11/2/09, bluezinnia <bluezinnia wrote: bluezinnia <bluezinnia Antique cookbooks for free " Simply-Spicy " <Simply-Spicy >, , Wednesday, 11 February, 2009, 6:51 AM If you enjoy old cookbooks (early 1900s and earlier), check this website. Who knew Project Gutenberg, the people who put classic public-domain books online, had a long list of cookbooks?? http://www.gutenber g.org/wiki/ Cookery_(Bookshelf) .. Quote
