Recipe Files Updated - I hope! - and a note on posting them . . .

Okay, everyone, I've been a bit slack lately, but I have just finished

transferring

recipes to the Files section ;=) You will have received notices of what they are

and where to find them. I decided to put the wonderful egg dish from

artichoke72x under breakfasts and brunches, because that's where so many

other good egg recipes (huevos rancheros, etc.) are located - but of course all

those of you looking for light lunches or light supper dishes would look under

Breakfasts and Brunches too, right? Of course you would! *lol*

Andrew's sandwich (very good, btw - we tried it here on hot evening - great

combo of flavour) doesn't seem to have made itself notice-able (I must have

forgotten to click the 'notify members' box), but it is there under First

Courses

and Snacks and Sandwiches (whatever that folder is called), and the amazing

curries from ~Lez~ - many thanks - are where you'd expect them to be!

Thank you all for the great recipes. It's really easy for any of us to check out

the net or a cookbook for recipes, but they don't mean much unless someone

has tried them and pronounced them *good* ;=) Tried and true recipes - yes,

with personal comments and finicky likes and dislikes included too, if you like

- are invaluable, especially with a list like this one! Nice work, everyone!!!

Btw, if you mark a dish 'vegan' try to remember to take out referencfes to eggs

and dairy - cuz Mark or I will have to do it otherwise ;=) Ovo-lacto vegetarians

can figure out that if something works with vegan margerine or soy yoghurt or

scrambled tofu (I use these only as examples - there could be many more egs

out there!), then it will probably work with butter, yoghurt and scrambled eggs

too if we want to go that way. (Me? I figure if someone hands me a good

vegan recipe on a platter I'm not going to mess with it - but I have these

strange urges anyway *lol*). However, to continue: it isn't *always* correct

that

substituting *vegan* products for eggs and dairy each for each will work

satisfactorily. Vegans will know what I mean :=( (Ever tried, for eg, putting

most vegan cheese on top of a pizza and waiting for it to melt rather than

turning into a sheet of plastic?? It happens!) So, make a note that vegan is

vegan, tried and true, and ovo-lacto is a separate category unless *both*

work. Just a point - don't fret it - cuz it's a problem I have all the time when

trying to adapt recipes for vegan members, which is why I have to try them all

out myself first.

Oh dear, this went on far longer than I meant *lol* too early? Nope, it's nine

am here now. time for more coffee? I'd say definitely!!

Best to you all,

gf/Pat ;=)
