I have already mentioned the great recipes! Now I'm checking on the Files -

and it occurs to me that I stupidly didn't mention this. Could you please, when

putting recipes in the Files, create a *text* file rather than uploading a file

as

..doc ??? Some, depending on where they are, what equipment they are

using, etc., have a little difficulty in accessing files like that. Okay? I've

looked

after the three that were up there (thanks so much for thinking of doing that!)

though, so no worries there ;=)

Still got some great food to read about!!!

I noticed the files that are in 'Word doc. " I have to save to disc,

rather than just open and read ones that are in " text " . I like to just

look at the recipe and if I want to make that dish, I print out a copy

to take in the kitchen.

No offense dude, but I am getting a gazillion e-mails a day, which I don't

really need. Can you tell me how to get off the e-mail list. I don't mind

checking into the site, but this just isn't

working for me. I get lots of mail that requires immediate attention.

I like what you are doing, you have a great group, but this just isn't what

I wanted.

Thanks.

Peace. Chuck

Chuck, you can go to " edit my membership " to opt out of getting e-mails...

For some reason, I was trying for ease and

consistency. I somehow don't think I've achieved it!

sorry. Anyway, there you have it.

Maybe it was an accident - he hit the wrong button? Perhaps re-invite & he'll

sign up for NO emails vs. no group? Just a thought. Beth

Ok, well, since I'm the guilty party, could someone please tell me

how to go about converting a file? I have MS Word, which evidently,

is the offending agent. How do I convert to a " text " file?

Hey, Monica ;=)

You are neither 'guilty' nor did you MS Word file 'offend' --and I never said it

did, did I? *lol* And I already wrote:

>>I've looked after the three that were up there (thanks so much for thinking of

>>doing that!) though, so no worries there ;=)

which means all done, no worries. Honest ;=)

I open a file on my hard drive, select all and copy it, then when I get on the

website I open the appropriate folder, select 'create text document' and paste

it into the box. Easy, honest ;=)

The fault was mine, as I say, for not having made it clear in the first place.

So

sorry.

Hope you had a good weekend and beginning of the week. I had a bit of good

luck and a bit of bad. The good luck was having out of town friends, whom we

hadn't seen in a couple of years, drift in ;=) and the bad luck was turning my

ankle on Monday night :=( Just what I needed! *lol*

thanks again for the lovely recipes!

Sorry, mis-spoke myself. I don't speak computer-speak in the least. I'm likely

to

do the linguistic equivalent of --(well, think of a baaad linguistic boo-boo

when

trying to speak a language not your own! *lol*).

I meant to say that I open one of my own files located on my own computer

and then select all, copy, move to the Files in our webpage, to the folder, then

to Creat Text File, then paste in the thing that I had copied from my own

computer. That's what I meant.

Yeah, thanks about the sympathies for the silly ankle - I have a knee that

gives way now and then and, on the other side, a wonky hip that sometimes

stiffens up (I mean, Really! You'd think they'd get together!) but my *ankle*??

Downright insubordination!

It's feeling a little better today . . . ;=)
