CEU courses - 2 field trips

There have been a couple of questions about CEU courses recently so I thought it

would be fair to recommend these...Many of you have attended our annual CEU

field trips(the Los Padres trip has been happening since the early 90's) in the

past and it is that time of year again. American School of Herbalism has been

renamed Sylvan School of Botanical Medicine and we are offering a couple of

outings in the next month and a half that may appeal to those of you who are

tired of attending CEU events in stuffy conference rooms in hotels near the

airport.

The outings focus on concepts of integrating native plants into Chinese medical

practice and touch on harvesting, preparation, and formulation. Please email

sylvanbotanical if you'd like more detailed information about these

courses as there is scant info on the website.

Dates and locationMarch 27, 28 - Southern Ca. Desert - multiple locations

between San Diego and Imperial Counties

April 10, 11 - Los Padres Natl. Forest, Eastern Big Sur

Hope to see some of you out amongst the plants this Spring.

All,

I just want to take the opportunity to trumpet my recommendation for these

trips. I have known Ben for a long time. We have done many of these trips

together (both just the two of us wildcrafting and botanizing, and as teachers)

and I can assure you they are well worth it in many ways.

You will get a great introduction to using some Western herbs in your practice,

you will get some good eats, and you will have a great time doing it. To be

honest, I am jealous I am missing these trips, especially the desert trip as

that is the trip that Ben and I did for many years before starting to teach it.

Enjoy,

Thomas

Hi All,

I have also attended these the past few years and highly recommend them. I will

be attending one or both again this year. The content is challenging, inspiring,

lucid, and scholarly.

My favorite trips have been when I took the whole family (and will this year).

My young children LOVE the exploring, the ethical harvesting of medicine, and of

course, all that time outdoors.

Should be a glorious year with all this rain we've had- hope to meet you out

there!

Likewise. I've heard nothing but great things about Ben's courses. I'd love to

be there.
