I had noticed Zi Cao was arriving looking a lot like Bai Tou Weng, fuzzy greyish green tops. How could this herb do the things that the purple root is supposed to do? In Mayway's catalog, if you want the purple root, you have to order Zi Cao (Hong Tiao) I don't know what that means ( " red something " ?) -- but they still call Zi Cao " Lithospermum Root " , which they should really call " Lithospermum plant " , shouldn't they? When people fax us an order for Zi Cao, I have to call them to find out if they want Zi Cao Rong or Zi Cao Gen. The former is the aerial portion, the latter is the root.
