Guest guest
This is way off topic. Occassionally I indulge myself by writing poetry. >shhhh. Don't tell anyone!< LOL! Anyway, I wrote a poem that has been accepted as a semi-finalist in an International Open Poetry Contest! Can you IMAGINE?! No, I don't have to pay anything either (for those of you who no doubt were wondering). Top prize in August is 1,000 smackaroos. No, I highly doubt I'll win, I didn't even expect it to be accepted. I wrote it more for fun than anything. Frost, Shakespeare and T.S. Elliot it aint. Here it is for those of you who wanna peek (did I mention? It's going to be published in a book as well!) The Three Year Old Sugar on the counter tops not to mention the floor milk in the catfood dish honey on the door Crayons swirled on the wall and less obviously under tables toilets flushed with plastic toys cat fur covered with address lables Playdough stuck in the hair ink scribbled on the skin nail polish on the pictures loud squeaky whistles make a din Oh Thank God! It's bedtime " Three Little Pigs " never misses no more water, no more stories but yes, I'll take more kisses The three year old has finally crashed another long day is done no doubt his dreams are filled with schemes of endless toddler fun by Kathleen E Petrides -- Cheers! Guest guest
Kathleen - You are a very gifted writer. I still laugh over your blog article on nurses being smarter than dogs. We would all give you the prize. You don't need $1K to say it. BUT it sure would buy a little something, eh? LOL!! Dale Truth and fact aren't the same thing. ... Guest guest
Thanks Dale! LOL! And Thanks to all you who who wrote to say they liked it... What always gives me the giggles are the " How do you know my child (or in Marges case, grandchild) " comments that I've gotten. Sure is a relief to know that I'm not the only one chasing around after a frustratingly creative child! LOL! Thanks much everyone, you da best ;-) K > Dale -- Cheers!
