Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who posted on this. Mom has returned to regular again, thank goodness. Interestingly, nobody picked up on the actual question, which was: " What is the extreme range of normal for an 89 year old? " Like, when should we take her for medical intervention?? All the other stuff, water, fiber, etc, we knew and had applied. Anyway, after a week of no activity we gave Mom an enema, which had the desired results, and resumed he Rainforest goodies along with prune juice. She is back to daily, sigh of relief! I hope the trip back home to Holland won't mess her up too much, but at least she will be near her own doctor and my sister will be on alert. One more day here and we are off to take her to the airport in Vancouver. I am looking forward to my normal quota of computer time again! Guest guest
Hi Ien, Everybody should poop every day - at any age - young or old or in between. Sometimes a person gets backed up (at any age this too can happen), and of course we shouldn't all run to the doc just cause we've skipped a day pooping - but if it goes several days, or this is a chronic thing, something needs to be done about it - cause - everyone should poop every day. Actually we're SUPPOSED to poop after each meal we eat, but a " fluffy floating poop " at least once a day is the proper way for the bowels to be working. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com On Behalf Of Ieneke van Houten <snipped> Interestingly, nobody picked up on the actual question, which was: " What is the extreme range of normal for an 89 year old? Guest guest
Chris, I love you to death. I have never quite heard a bowel movement described with such finesse before. Priceless.......*grin* Evelyn www.alternasense.com<http://www.alternasense.com/> Actually we're SUPPOSED to poop after each meal we eat, but a " fluffy floating poop " at least once a day is the proper way for the bowels to be working. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com<http://www.alittleolfactory.com/>
