What symptoms lead you to believe the system is unbalanced? Hard to make a blanket assessment without that information. Kindest regards~ Sandi Thompson, R.A. Guest guest
Hi Heleen, Essential oils are very helpful for addressing specific symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. However, they don't balance the hormonal system in general. Oh, wouldn't that be just too easy! If you tell me what symptoms you're having, I would be happy to suggest helpful EO's. Guest guest
Hi Sandra, Basically I don't stop having my period once it starts. Bleeding can last for weeks, fluctuating in amounts of flow. When it it finally over I ever so often dont have a period for months. The whole thing it totally irregular and has been so for at least the 7 years. I do not have any cramps or pain ever, and feel good and function well while having my periods. Herbs recommended by natural herbal experts have not worked. The uterus itself is fine and my complaits has been diagnosed as hormonal imbalance. I am vegetarian. I eat lots of green veggies and red beets every day to replenish the iron and minerals. I hoped some essential oil may be can do something? Warm wishes, Heleen .. , Sandra Thompson <sandrat@o...> wrote: > > > On Jun 27, 2005, at 9:35 AM, heleen1964 wrote: > > > Hi ! > > What essential oils are know to bring balance to the female hormonal > > system? > > Best wishes, > > Heleen > > > > Hi Heleen > What are you trying to balance? Guest guest
Hi Heleen Thanks for getting back to me. Endless periods are no fun. Have you ruled out cervical or uterine polyps/cysts? These can sometimes be the cause of long periods. Have you ever had a doctor or gynecologist suggest taking birth control pills to normalize your cycle? Here are a list of essential oils commonly used for menstrual problems: Chamomiles: Roman and German Clary sage Fennel Geranium Jasmine Lavender Marjoram You might try blending these, 5 drops each or your choice of those you like or have on hand. Up to 20 drops per 10ml for a massage oil. Apply to the pelvic area and lower back. If you have allergies to any of these plants, don't use the essential oil. Compresses might also be good, in castor oil. This is not to be construed as medical advice. I'm just responding to your question about aromatherapy and hormonal balancing suggestions. If you have not had cervical polyps/cysts ruled out, I strongly suggest a visit to your health care practitioner. Kindest regards~ Sandi Thompson, R.A. Guest guest
For endless bleeding, please try acupuncture. It saved me when I was bleeding to the point of anemia, at the beginning of menopause. The TCM took the initial interview, and said: " You have a weak spleen. And the spleen holds the blood in the channels. " It sounded like gobbledegook to me at the time, but whatever! She proceeded to use acupuncture to strengthen my spleen. The excessive bleeding stopped after two sessions and never returned. Its worth a try, and will not harm or upset anything if it doesn't work. Something else to try, also in the vein of energy medicine, is Emotional Freedom Technique. Try it on anything! Easy to learn and do, profoundly empowering, and free to boot! Read about it here: http://emofree.com Ien in the Kootenays ******************************* Stop. Breathe. I have a friend who was in that boat. She had tried many different herb tinctures, and was drinking shepherd's purse tincture straight from the bottle, finally getting to the point where she was falling down from the anemia (might have caused temporary deafness too, because we were all yelling at her, and she didn't seem to hear us....). Went for acupuncture, and saw an immediate difference. She continued for about 3 months, and was never bothered again. Guest guest
Hi Sandi and Everyone who responded, Thank you so much for responding. Yes I ruled out everything. It is caused by hormonal imbalance. I do not want to take the birth controle pills. I will try the oils as you suggested with acupunture as a back up. In terms of herbs I have tried it all. I hope that either the oils or the acurpucture will help. Thanks again everyone for your advice, Warm wishes, Heleen , Sandra Thompson <sandrat@o...> wrote: > Hi Heleen > Thanks for getting back to me. Guest guest
Hi Heleen Have you tried Vitex? (The herb - *not* oil – which needs carefully monitoring when used for hormonal upsets) This worked wonders for me when I was about to jump " over the hill " and suffered similar problems to you.
