Guest guest
Hey folks, I got my local veggie co-op order this week and it has a BIG bunch of mustard greens in it. Anyone got any good recipes for them? They are one of those veggies I have little to no experience with. Thanks! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Chris, Mustard greens, we fry bacon (and garlic) in a big sauce pan. Remove bacon and wilt greens add a small amount of water if needed. Remember to crumble bacon and add all to pot. Guest guest
Along with Jan's suggestion of bacon, garlic; add 1tsp-1TBS of vinegar(your choice); this helps cut the bacon drippings, and makes your " dressing " . This is what I do to spinich, mustard and collard greens. Coarse mustard greens are a little bitter..that is why I gave you the option of the tsp.-TBS amount. Guest guest
I wonder how fennel would taste sauteed with mustard greens, or apple (as a " garni " ). Fennel is really good with brussel sprouts & garlic, but I've not ever tried it with mustard greens.
