Guest guest
Hi everyone, My name is Michelle and you've seen me around here for a month or so now. Great group. I love it! I moerdate a group called Holistic Menopause, am writing a book by the same title, and I facilitate retreats (online and live), seminars, workshops and rites of passage ceremonies for women in perimenopause and menopause. I've been in the holistic arts for 28 years, and during the last 6 months, I've invested literally hundreds and hundreds of hours to research on the topic of menopause. So, having qualified myself >>grin<<, I would certainly love to be of support to those of you with questions regarding this very natural, and quite wonderful (yes, wonderful) life transition. I developed Holistic Menopause because I realized just how many women are entering this time of life, and how little solid information and support there really is. So, if you don't mind, I'll post a couple of things that will hopefully be of support. Feel free to contact me personally too. All the best, Michelle http://www.holisticmenopause.com
Guest guest
Michelle, Kudos to you and your attitude!! I have raised my daughter (14) to believe that her body changing is a privilege NOT a testament to disaster! When she menstruates I gently remind her that without feeling, experiencing, and embracing this she would not have the gift of bearing children. YES, a gift. LOL Of course, she shakes her head and wants me to be quiet, BUT, I know that in her heart this is making a difference toward her attitude of becoming a woman. Guest guest
I'm in Michelle's " holistic menopause " group as well as several others that are in this group. For those of us who are in this transitional stage of life Michelle group offers a lot of knowledge, wisdom and camaraderie. Just like this list there is so much to learn and we can share and learn for each other. And yes she does know her stuff. Guest guest
Thank you Markey. I appreciate that. Attitude is so important! Most women dread menopause because of a lack of awareness and/or because they have seen or heard horror stories from other women. They often enter into this magical time of life with great confusion, fear, sadness and plenty of anger and remorse. It's usually considered an end rather than the beginning it really is. Changing attitudes is much of my work. Knowledge is very empowering! Since " whatever we focus on becomes magnified " , and " whatever we resist will persist " , it just makes sense to embrace menopause with reverence (which is much of what I teach in Holistic Menopause). Your daughter is fortunate to have a mom who reminds her of what a miracle her body is. She'll be very grateful one day. Good for you Markey! Guest guest
Thank you Rita. You are quite wise yourself! And, thanks for introducing me to this group. So much wisdom here and such a kind community. I've dabbled in herbs and EO's for years, and recently considered making blends for women in peri/meno. Since discovering this group, hearing your stories and exploring your websites, I'll be leaving that up to you pros! You're all amazing!!! In heart, Michelle http://www.holisticmenopause.com
