Guest guest
Good morning, everybody! I know there is a website that I've seen posted here that has a lot of info on the basics of soap making. Like a dummy, I've never bookmarked it...and now I can't seem to find it through searching the messages. Help, please! Thanks, Melissa

So is Rita Scheu's: http://www.1tlcsoaps.com There are some other good ones too, I'd just have to find them to post them - my bookmarks are embarrassingly disorganized! <grinz> Happy soaping *Smile* Chris (list mom) Celebrating The Colors of Autumn - ON SALE NOW Virgin Red Palm Oil & 2 Kinds Of Brown Muscovado Sugar http://www.alittleolfactory.com

A little nutty maybe. Just kiddin! I think perhaps you are just a busy busy lady, with a lot on her mind. I just happened to know of the website you mentioned...so I fixed it. I'm not usually any help at all....so it just brightens my day to help out. Take care! Candy > DUR! When I typed that I was thinking of her soap list which is called > 1TLC soaps ... Guest guest
Selene, Of course I don't mind, however, I was thinking that maybe the herb group would not be the place for soap. Here are some wonderful groups to get you started: http://health.LotionsPotionsAndSoaps/ 1TLCSoaps/ soap_makers/ There are many recipes and clear instructions. Soap making is not to be taken lightly so please read before beginning. Guest guest
Julia, Do you infuse oils, makes tinctures and also add dried herbs? I think that is very interesting. Guest guest
I do infuse oils. Haven't tinctures yet. Been thinkging about it. I use herbs in my soap. Not all of my soap. I make a Rosemary soap. It has Rosemary EO and rosenary herbs. I grind the rosemary and add it at the end. I add the Eo and herbs to my soaps. Guest guest
Calendula is my favorite to put in my soaps. I grow my own aloe and occasionally will draw out the juice and use that in my soaps as well. You can put all sorts of things in your soaps. Anything from herbs to oils and butters to milks of all kinds. I just made a butter milk soap and a coconut milk soap which both so far look wonderful. I've made goats milk soaps a few times and love them. Guest guest
Just slice it down the side of the fat leaves and unfold it. The juice will drip out. You can also put it through a press which I've done many times. I have an old pasta roller thing where you put the pasta dough through one end and it comes out flat the other end. Well I just shove an aloe leaf in the one end and start turning that handle. :-) Veronica Davidson <http://www.veronicaslavishlathers.com> http://www.veronicaslavishlathers.com <http://www.friendswithms.com> http://www.friendswithms.com On Behalf Of Neysa Dormish Sunday, September 18, 2005 12:58 PM Re: Re: soap making Veronica Davidson wrote: >Calendula is my favorite to put in my soaps.
