Guest guest
Hi everyone, just had one of my regular patients come in for a `top up' session. Everything seemed normal except for the palm of her hands which have become; rough, flaky and peeling. The rest of her skin, back of hands, arms, feet and body is in beautiful condition. I though it must be on contact but she assures me that she is not doing anything different or using any new creams, soap, washing powder, etc. So I think it may be a little bit of worry because she is getting married in a month but she again assures me that she is not anxious at all and looking forward to the event. She has tried hand creams with no effect. Pulse and Tongue are normal for her. Can you suggest any creams or herb prescriptions so the wedding shots of the ring on her finger are not spoiled. Many thanks, David
Guest guest
Hi all: --David- a month but she again assures me that she is not anxious at all and looking forward to the event. --- I believe the body before a person's opinion. Anxiety does not have to be negative. Before looking for any named emotion, I often simply look for " excitement " (all strong emotions are a type of excitement) and " lack of motion " . I would put some pressure on her. Weddings are not conducive to calm and non-attachment. Talk to her more. If you don't seem to be getting enough information from the usual methods, go back to the interview and talk about the origin of it - what time of day, what was she doing directly before and int he day or two before, what is the variance like, etc. Sorry to not be of more help, Hugo ________________________________ Hugo Ramiro http://middlemedicine.wordpress.com http://www.chinesemedicaltherapies.org
Guest guest
David, Is the peeling and roughness accompanied by redness. And is it specifically red and itchy in the area close to the webs of the fingers. If so, let me know as I had a patient like that. --- On Mon, 6/15/09, davidjameslees <davidjameslees wrote: davidjameslees <davidjameslees Rough peeling palm of hands Chinese Medicine Monday, June 15, 2009, 4:45 PM Hi everyone, just had one of my regular patients come in for a `top up' session. Guest guest
Thank you Yehunda, No signs of redness or heat, no itching, perhaps a desire to pull and peel the peeling skin. Slightly worse around the web of hands and fingers. I would be greatful for any thoughts. Guest guest
Is the peeling occurring along the heart channel? What does it look like - is it red or pale, dry or damp, with or without vesicles? Guest guest
Also, is it itchy or painful? Guest guest
Dear David, I found the following interesting common denominators with every patients who displayed this combination of redness, itching and peeling at the webs: A blood and a Wei qi vacuity fostering liver wind, and a propensity to stay up during the hours of 1-3 am (liver time). I had them take the Plum Flower formula Dang Gui Yin Zi Wan, and told them that they MUST be asleep by 1:00 am, and in each case, it worked like a charm. Hope this is helpful. --- On Tue, 6/16/09, davidjameslees <davidjameslees wrote: davidjameslees <davidjameslees Re: Rough peeling palm of hands Chinese Medicine Tuesday, June 16, 2009, 3:54 AM Thank you Yehunda, No signs of redness or heat, no itching, perhaps a desire to pull and peel the peeling skin.
