Guest guest
Dear Reigh, It was so nice talking with you and you're on the Mission Possible list. Reading your letter reminded me when an ambulance came in from a grocery store where someone had been drinking a diet soda, the doctor said, " here comes another aspartame seizure " . When I was in England lecturing in 2000 I remember talking to someone who told me an employee at a bottling company had a seizure and called the NutraSweet Company. A man came out and said, " I just want you to know you're the first one who ever reported a seizure from aspartame " . He left his folder behind when he left and when the employee opened it, there were letters from all these people having seizures on aspartame. Attached to each letter was their form letter stating " why you're the first person who ever reported a seizure from aspartame " . Yet, it was the original manufacturer who did the RAO study, a 52 week oral toxicity study done on 7 infant monkeys. Five had grand mal seizures and one died and it was used as pivotal in the approval of aspartame. * http://www.dorway.com/raoreport.txt Also read the footnote on this: http://dorway.com/dorwblog/?page_id=776 Here is how aspartame manufacturers fix the studies on seizures: http://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/abuse/seizures.html Since you have Dr. Roberts medical text you know that anti-seizure medication interacts with aspartame. In fact, aspartame interacts with virtually all drugs because of damage to the mitochondria. Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, www.sunsentpress.com My neurologist was telling me the day he met me about a case of a woman who was having seizures and nothing would help; he tried every anti-seizure medication there was. I advised him all anti-seizure medication interacts. One day he was at the hospital seeing her and she had a case of diet pop by her bed. He asked her if she was having a party and she said " no, she drinks a case a day " . He said, " no wonder you have seizures you have to get off of it " . She did but she went crazy and he had to admit her to a mental hospital. However, after two weeks she was fine and never had another seizure. I don't know if you know this but aspartame causes polychemical sensitivity syndrome, same as multichemical sensitivity syndrome so if you accidently get some aspartame as you did you will immediately react seriously. I know you know not to use any processed food, especially if it says " artificial and natural flavors " . You do have to be careful in restaurants. We once took someone to dinner who was an aspartame victim and I asked the waiter about the desserts and if there were any additives. The waiter said, " we make them from scratch, absolutely we would not use aspartame " . So she got a dessert and almost had a heart attack. You know it damages it triggers an irregular heart rhythm, interacts with cardiac medication, damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden death. http://www.wnho.net/aspartame_msg_scd.htm When I called them they checked and found out one of the ingredients had aspartame in it. Dr. Russell Blaylock once said in a lecture: " Understand the reactions to aspartame are not allergic but toxic like arsenic and cyanide. " Just a dab of arsenic will do it in someone chemically hypersensitive. www.russellblaylockmd.com I've typed in your case you sent me and putting it on the lists with permission to publish, as a warning to others as you said I could. I'm also putting in the mail to you one of the Artificially Sweetened Times, the brochures we give out for distribution. www.idaho-observer.com Or you can call them at 208 255-2307. I would suggest you give them to others as a warning with a copy of your case history. I hope you have information on aspartame in your books. You can use information from the web sites below. I'm glad you have Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World, www.soundandfury.tv I would suggest when you get people together that you show it. There is a safe sweetener, Just Like Sugar, which you can get on line, www.justlikesugarinc.com After it was analyzed Dr. Blaylock wrote in his newsletter, the Blaylock Wellness Report, " finally a safe sweetener " . No additives, just chicory, orange peel, Vitamin C and Calcium. You can get it also in most Whole Foods. Aspartame is genetically engineered . Here is what Dr. Bill Deagle said: " Most people when asked how aspartame is made do not have the first step of understanding. While an E.R. doctor and primary care physician in Augusta, Georgia in 1987 and 1988, I was told a number of interesting facts about the adjacent aspartame factory. Bacteria with geneses inserted generate a sludge which is centrifuged to remove the aspartame and many hundreds of contaminant organic and amino acids are present. We were told not to report illness or worker's compensation issues for fear of being fired by the hospital, now the Augusta Regional Medical Center. Many of their employees presented with psychiatric, neuropathy conditions, chronic fatigue and organic cases of loss of cognitive function. This powder from the dried sludge was then transported for packaging in factories elsewhere in the US, before sale as Equal and now the myriad of names of this neurotoxin. " We call aspartame " Nastytame " or " Nastyshame " ! Thank you for all you do to warn others. All my best, Betty www.mpwhi.com, www.dorway.com, www.wnho.net Aspartame Toxicity Center, www.holisticmed.com/aspartame Aspartame Information List, www.mpwhi.com scroll down to banners Dear Dr. Martini: I pray that everyone takes in your research and wisdom regarding the dreaded aspartame that is so wide spread. As a nutritionist of many years, one would presume I was forewarned and forearmed. However, I had two terrible experiences with this dreaded additive! Both situations basically involved a restaurant. The first incident was in 1988. Even though I was eating as well as possible there were several slips of adding NutraSweet to my teas. Within a minute or two, I went into a terrible Jacksonian (rare) seizure; and was quickly followed by a Grand Mal Seizure (never experienced before). My husband and others related that I turned a shear gray. An ambulance was summoned and I promptly went into another seizure along with some life saving techniques. Now, for the hospital, I seizured off and on for six hours. Tests were run with zero results. Next, two neurologists were flown in from Flagstaff and I was put in the I.C.U. for observation. From there, I was in a regular room with a roommate as bewildered as myself. The seizures lightened throughout the next seven days; and predictably I was placed on seizure medicine! The next couple of weeks remain hazy. As a fairly new wife at that time, I'm almost certain that it was bewildering to say the last, to my husband, as well. The second fiasco was here in Minnesota on a Saturday night. My husband ordered an Italian meal from a so-called nice restaurant. It was tasty for an infrequent treat. However, I lost again. This time, I had progressive tremors and was taken to the hospital for a four-day stay. Upon return to my home, I was given Carbidopa several times a day for the onset of Parkinson's Disease. I am now gingerly going off this medicine. A call to the restaurant gave me the ingredients of the meal. Besides a heavy dose of aspartame, MSG, salt, sugar, etc. Now, as predicted, my home with " safe foods " is become my favorite place to eat. I'm almost seventy years of age; and am finishing up my second book. Because of my mentor, Dr. H. G. Bieler, author of Food is Your BestMedicine, I am always searching for the truth some thirty odd years later. Besides scourging everywhere for additives being added without our knowledge, I have had the joy of serving 20,000 people throughout the years! I have a wonderful track record with God's help to give out individual diets. Why mass diets exist is almost as scary as aspartame; and its horrid " relatives " . Your research, Betty, has been tops! Dr. Roberts' book and other DVD's are such a relief. I do not keep these ugly additives a secret. My telephone number is 507-510-0101. Computers are my short suit. My email is AuntyReigh. My website is www.InternationalDietCare.com. Bless you for all of your help!!! Sincerely, Reigh Parker-Burch (Ferguson) Nutritionist/Author
