Orthopedic Surgeon interviewed on CBS morning news....day after

Wow. The most honest assessment possible coming from a surgeon - I think

this shows where the degree of opposition to AP from the surg. community

arises from: professional doubt, jealousy and fear. If we can do better

with our minimally invasive procedure requiring far less formal

education for a lot less, there will be a lot of surgeons with too much

time on their hands.

 

This is bad, bad news for us because these surgeons will see our art as

an easy money maker on the side if they are having trouble lining up

surgical patients, and they will try to put us out of business with

their own ignorant " sham " acupuncture. The big fish swallows the little

fish.

Unfortunately, if the AAAOM (or whatever they're called now) doesn't

start getting laws on the books forbiding underqualified MD's from

taking our patients in every state, everyone will lose.

 

The same surgeons who won't even give me the time of day because they

call me a quack will be laughing all the way to the bank.

MD is quoted as saying on the CBS Morning news.....paraphrase

d:

" That all the study proves is that he spent 12 years of medical

education and 20 years surgical experience to perform conventional

surgery that has

less positive results than the sham acupuncture which he feels is

not really a

sham but describes it rather as needling with less penetration than

standard

acupuncture " .

 

Just looked on CBS News website and could not find any reference.

 

Many people saw this on national TV.

you raise some astute points here. i'm behind your 700hr idea 100% (who in

our prof wouldn't be). not sure how to get it implemented. maybe the first

step would be to raise the idea to the nat and state assocs.
