Guest guest
Hi, I thought I'd just throw this idea out there since some people have been talking about Wild Yam and IUDs. My husband and I teach (we are volunteers for a non-profit organization) the sympto-thermal method of Natural Family Planning and it's 99% effective. We use it and it's great, especially because there are NO side effects. It's not the Rhythm Method either. Anyway, I wanted to mention that since this is a Herbal Remedies site, I figured people might be more interested in hearing about a natural, no drug option for family planning. Our organization is at www.ccli.org, and I know if you " Google " " natural family planning " you can probably find all sorts of stuff out there. Guest guest
You know I tried that- kept my information carefully for two years in fact---- and I was an absolute nervous wreck. I am sure this is a wonderful way to go for many folks, but it wasn't for me. A plane trip home or a sleepless night or a cold would throw off the data just enough for me never to be able to rely upon it. Also, I felt the 1% failure rate to be high given the days of abstinence required. Using a Lady Comp, which basically is a more accurate version of the method you teach (although more expensive unfortunately) apparently can lower that failure rate to .7 % and also has the advantage of leaving more 'open' times for sex. Sometimes I wish the Catholic church would buy those things in bulk and lower the price for all of us. Anyway- I was taught your method by a kind couple way back and was impressed by them. Thank you for helping to keep the knowledge going. Cerise I thought I'd just throw this idea out there since some people have been talking about Wild Yam and IUDs. Guest guest
If this method uses temp, I cant do it either. If I had a perfect nights sleep every night, go to bed at the same time, live in a temperature controlled home, and never got up to go to the bathroom (I get up about 2x a night) it might be possible. ~Carla herbal remedies , Cerise <cerise.sky wrote: > > You know I tried that- kept my information carefully for two years in > fact---- and I was an absolute nervous wreck. Guest guest
Dear Suzy, I've heard of this technique, but have little data on it. Could you please elaborate for the list and me. Guest guest
The Sympto-Thermal Method of Natural Family Planning uses a woman's natural signs of fertility to postpone/avoid or plan a pregnancy. A woman naturally has a temperature shift after she ovulates. She also has cervical fluid during her fertile time and her cervix will rise and soften. We map these things daily on a chart. And in response to Carla's points about having to go to the bathroom, needing a temperature controlled house and going to bed at the same time every night-I'm living proof that all those things aren't a conflict for using the method. I also go to the bathroom at least once or twice a night and I have a daughter I usually am up with every night. I never go to bed at the same time and often get little sleep. Our house is warm in the summer and cold in winter. Only extreme circumstances should affect charting. Having a fever WILL affect it for example. I'd be more than happy to answer any specific questions anyone has. herbal remedies , " Dr. Ian Shillington " <DocShillington wrote: > > Dear Suzy, > I've heard of this technique, but have little data on it. > Could you please elaborate for the list and me. > In Health, Freedom, and Love, > Doc > > Doc Shillington > 727-447-5282 > Doc
Guest guest
Wellllllllll, thanks Suz. I'd appreciate it if you could send me the entire protocol in a private email as an attachment so I can post it permanently to the files under "Member's Contributions". You'll get full credit of course with a byline. It would be great to have this natural solution in there. Guest guest
Thanks for your responce to my concern. Their are times when I wake up in a sweat, very hot - low blood pressure or something, but that happens during my period when I'm not concerned anyway. I can always start charting again and " test " it out for a few cycles. Thanks!
