Guest guest Report post Posted May 1, 2010 I buy the cheapest MSM I can find. No idea if it is made from petroleum or not. 8 years ago, I could not ie my shoes, or button my shirt. Putting on an oven mitt was painful. I take 2 grams x 3 times a day. I started out at a higher dose and cut down after the pain went away. MSM is not only great for arthritis, but it also helped reverse my diabetic neuropathy in my feet and hands. I take vitamin C to bowel tolerance daily. Currently I take ~15 grams a day. Back 5 years ago, I needed over 30 grams a day. Why do you believe MSM from petroleum is inferior? The MSM molecule is the same, no matter where it comes from. Guest guest Report post Posted May 1, 2010 Yes, I am new to this list. I likely have copper toxicity from extensive coffee and chocoalte and soy intake and zinc deficiency. I also am opting to take MSM to remove copper from my joints and other painful muscles. I am not sure how much MSM I can take. I've read sites online that said you could have rashes and euphoric syptoms from taking it in consistant highdoses even for a short length of time. SO I'm unsure about how much to take in one shot and if I'd be uncomfortable with either of these physical/physiological responses. Guest guest Report post Posted May 6, 2010 How rare or common are those side effects? How long do they last? I take lots of MSM daily and have done so since June of 2002. I never noticed any negative side effects. Not saying you will not get the side effects. Just suggesting it might be worth trying.
