Guest guest
Hi, I just wanted to share this info for those who bill or those interested in billing insurance. United Health Care paid me for cupping. For 1 patient they paid me $40 and $27.30 for another patient. Not bad considering that is on top of the acupuncture bill! Guest guest
Ellie: What is the code for cupping? Are you a member of their plan? They would not reimburse my patient for acupuncture here in MD. Maybe because I am not a member, but I thought he said " They don't cover acupuncture. " I do cupping a lot and would love to know the code. Guest guest
A word of caution from someone who worked in the insurance biz for nearly 20 years..... the " computer " paid you based on the code. this does not mean that it was properly paid, it simply means the claim made it through their system without any glitches. it is possible that they could do an internal audit, request notes, discover they paid for an uncovered service and request a refund. so to say you were paid does not = a covered service.
