Guest guest
Suffering with both, CFS & Fibromyalgia, I took 2,000mg Tylenol yesterday, used an accupressure machine, and nothing helped. I sleep on 8 " memory foam. I'm really suffering here. Does anyone have a suggestion for pain relief? Has there been any research on what causes flares? Thanks' y'all. Guest guest
What did you eat for the day - what did you drink - are you dehydrated? How much water did you drink? Have you taken homeopathic Aconite 30C or homeopathic Arnica 30C - have you tried MSM - 1/2 teaspoon three times a day in a large glass of pure water building up to more as you start to tolerate it and in addition to 1.5L pure water through the day? Guest guest
When I have a fibro pain flare up I use one of my pain rubs/sprays: stop pain (spray--purchased at Rite Aid--not sure about the spelling), pain vanish (through the mail), and Unkers (from local distributor). All three help but as continued use seems to diminish there affect I use one for no more than week. So far this has lasted for three years with no diminishing of the pain relief they provide. The other thing I have done is started doing Tai Chi. I haven't made it past the warm up exercises yet but it does seem to be helping. I am in a flare today but as I haven't been able to exercise in 9 1/2 weeks due to broken ankle (and then I ran over the toes on my good foot with the wheel chair the other morning--talk about pain), I seem to have aggravated the fibro. My body hurts all over, stomach is upset, muscles cramping etc. So I am using one of the rubs and am taking it easy today! I do have a pain pill, propoxyphene, that I use if I go more than two or three nights without sleep due to pain. This allows me to get some sleep which breaks the downward spiral of the fibro flare. DH is disabled from fibro and can sleep on nothing but a waterbed. I on the other hand can't handle the waterbed (add the hat to hot flashes and I was waking up in puddle) so I purchased a sleep number air bed. Best investment for sleeping I made. Due to the broken ankle I can't get upstairs so have spent the last 10 1/2 weeks sleeping on the sofa which leaves a lot to be desired. So between the sofa sleeping, PAIN, and lack of exercise, I am in a flare. Guest guest
I was almost bed ridden a year ago. I have healed Fibromyalgia pain with Bio-Identical Progesterone Cream and Diet. Magnesium is one of the essential minerals depleted in our soils. Magnesium is the traffic cop for calcium. It shows it where to go. Calcium will get stuck in the tissues and cause discomfort without magnesium. Find Magnesium capsules at a good health food store. The capsules are easily absorbable unlike tablets or caplets. Many Fibro, MS and CFS sufferers also have absorbancy problems. It's better to " know the cause " , than simply treating symptoms. You may find that the pain will leave with magnesium alone. Also detox your body. A toxic system will exacerbate symptoms. You can start out with real lemons squeezed into water, maybe 3 times a day. Bathe in Epsom Salts . It contains magnesium sulfate which will absorb very well through skin. You will find many excellent detox programs from this group. Ginger and pineapple(bromelain) are great for relieving pain caused by inflammation. Homeopathic remedies are excellent such as mentioned by Jane MacRoss. Guest guest
Hello MagnoliaI have RSD, Myofacial Pain Syndrome,Arthtritis,Osteopina CFS.There is so much for you to research.Because everyone is different.Keeping a diary of your pain levels would help.Diet is very important .If you are taking just Tylenol I've heard that it's not good for your liver. That its more damaging to it than if your Dr prescribed a painkiller.Any stressors aggravate it.Make sure you get enough sleep.Rest ,eat healthy really nutrient packed food, vitamins. If you can't exercise atleast stretch every day as much as possible.Get massages when you can. Some say to cut dairy, red meat, sugar and white processed flours. And wheat.I admit I haven't done all these, even though I have been this way since 1997.It has drastically changed my life.I do get medical treatment in pain management and also do natural remedies.I long for the day.I can go completely natural or be done with this.I hope you have a caring support system. It is so important. Wishing you good feelin days, Ronimagnoliarouge47 <magnoliarouge47 wrote: Suffering with both, CFS & Fibromyalgia, I took 2,000mg Tylenol yesterday, used an accupressure machine, and nothing helped. Guest guest
Hi, DH had Fibro and I had CFS. Both of us recovered slowly by avoiding gluten and some other foods. Start a food diary and see if your pain is somehow related to what you ate or drank. Just this week DH complained about pains in his shoulders and neck. Then he realised that this had happened before when he was drinking decaffeinated coffee. So he switched again to regular coffee and after a couple of hours most of the pain was gone. Not drinking coffee would be even better of course;))) Nothing can do as much good or bad for your health as what you eat and drink. The choice is up to each of us!
