Guest guest Report post Posted March 25, 2006 Hello Zahra, I have had a problem in the past with kidney infections. I always used infusion of marshmallow root, uvaursi, loads of water, and cranberry juice. These things always cured the infections but they would always come back. I decided to get to the root of the problem. I went to my kinesiologist and after muscle testing she told me that I was sensitive to the toothpaste I was using. It was the ingredient sodium flouride. I stopped using that and they went away for a while. Then I started drinking an all organic green drink with ingredients such as green barley, beet root powder, rose hips, etc. and I have not had a problem since. I also have gone through a bowel and kidney cleanse which helped a lot!! Hope this helps! Jocelyn --- Lavender Sage <lavenderandsagesoap wrote: > HI > I am new here. Guest guest Report post Posted March 25, 2006 Hi Jocelyn!I will try the uva ursi and the marshmallow root infusions. Thank YOu. I have had trouble in the past with coffee. I stopped drinking it about 2 years ago because I was getting a pain in my liver. Right before I got the kidney infection, I took two doses of Estrin D (for weightloss) and the same day, that afternoon I had severe pains in my kidney, just my left kidney.I know the estrin D has alot of caffeine in it, and I am wondering if it is related. I can drink black and green tea without any problems, so I don't know for sure.I would love to go see a kinesiologist. I will put that on my list for when I get my tax return! Oh yes, what was the organic green drink you took? Thanks agian for the help. J johns <jocelynjohns wrote: Hello Zahra, I have had a problem in the past with kidney infections. Guest guest Report post Posted March 25, 2006 It can be very interesting to have a kinesiologist muscle test you. I think anyone can learn how to muscle test it just takes practice. I have used a couple different brands of green drinks but the one I liked the most is called New Chapter Berry Greens. There are a hundred different brands of green drinks, I think the doctor sells one on his website. So just choose one that works for you and your income, some are super expensive, Other than that I guess I have learned to drink extra water on a daily basis to keep my kidneys flushed. Also try to listen to you body. It will usually tell you in one way or another if it does not like a substance. Good luck! Let me know if you need instructions on how to prepare and dose the marshmallow and uva ursi! --- Lavender Sage <lavenderandsagesoap wrote: > Hi Jocelyn! > > I will try the uva ursi and the marshmallow root > infusions. Guest guest Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Hi Nope it is not the norm. However Debie is attacking a person who is well known in aromatherapy circles and is a competant and knowledgable person. Martin is the man who researches the research and is not afraid to critique the Cr & p sites and books that are out there plagerising each other so that it is " Fact " just by the numbers that regurgitate unresearched drivel. I agree wholeheartedly with Martins comments about the site in question. Is that kind of bickering the norm around here? [Dave:] It’s not the norm at all, in fact it’s downright unusual. However, I figure some good information will percolate out of this. Guest guest Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Dear Sue, I am someone who does not post much on this list, but I would like to comment on this exchange. Herbalists have long been known to have individual opinions about their speciality. It is well known that there ARE many disagreements in the field. From this hightly heated verbal exchange and from others that I have seen on other lists, there is, really , only ONE outcome. That outcome is a sharing of knowledge. From which we can all benefit. In the long run, your own personal herbal journey can only benefit from this. It is up to YOU, yourself, to discover truth from fiction and what works and what doesn't work or even harms. We as Herbalists, must never put the responsibility of finding out what actually works, on another's shoulders. Each of us MUST look for themselves and make our own decisions. We cannot, of course, do all the research necessary, so we DO have to determine WHO to follow. An exchange such as this can give us valuable data... And this chat list does have some excellent contributors. So, dear Sue, do not become exasperated due to such a verbal exchange. Realize that this is actually a very real learning experience for us all ..........................Herbally yours Penny On 6/17/06, Molly Gordon, MCC <lists wrote: > > Messages<http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJlZ3VqbXJnBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAz\ IwNzA5MzYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNjAwMTYyMzk3BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA21zZ3MEc3RpbWUDMTE1MDU4Nzg2OA\ --;_ylg=1/SIG=11q76n7es/**http%3a///message\ s>| > Files<http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJmbWc3cnVlBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwN\ zA5MzYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNjAwMTYyMzk3BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA2ZpbGVzBHN0aW1lAzExNTA1ODc4Njg-;\ _ylg=1/SIG=11n7ft72m/**http%3a///files>| > Photos<http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJlMGhpYWUzBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIw\ NzA5MzYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNjAwMTYyMzk3BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA3Bob3QEc3RpbWUDMTE1MDU4Nzg2OA--\ ;_ylg=1/SIG=11o6o13ng/**http%3a///photos>| > Links<http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJmdjlmYmU2BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwN\ zA5MzYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNjAwMTYyMzk3BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA2xpbmtzBHN0aW1lAzExNTA1ODc4Njg-;\ _ylg=1/SIG=11ngoh5sh/**http%3a///links>| > Database<http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJjM3Fha3JvBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAz\ IwNzA5MzYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNjAwMTYyMzk3BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA2RiBHN0aW1lAzExNTA1ODc4Njg-;_\ ylg=1/SIG=11qhq8djn/**http%3a///database>| > Polls<http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJmZWRqMDZ1BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwN\ zA5MzYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNjAwMTYyMzk3BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA3BvbGxzBHN0aW1lAzExNTA1ODc4Njg-;\ _ylg=1/SIG=11n2gjv4o/**http%3a///polls>| > Calendar<http://us.lrd./_ylc=X3oDMTJkN2o1OWZvBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAz\ IwNzA5MzYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNjAwMTYyMzk3BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA2NhbARzdGltZQMxMTUwNTg3ODY4;_\ ylg=1/SIG=11qlcoo8g/**http%3a///calendar> > The information contained in these e-mails is not a substitute > for diagnosis and treatment by a qualified, licensed professional. > > > Step By Step Instructions For Making Herbal Labna Cheese! Guest guest Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Sue, I'd been part of this list once before and I left for a short time only because life got too hectic. I came back because there are such great minds in here with amazing knowledge of herbs and such. This of this as an incredibly passionate family, and if your family is ANYTHING like mine can be, we love each other dearly but there WILL be some disagreements along the way! -- cjk
Guest guest Report post Posted June 18, 2006 So out of the pages of information that's been posted on this site, you only see one little altercation going on, but mentioned nothing about the info on infusing St. John's Wort, a healthy exchange on taking essential oils internally and another's attempt to resolve a dispute with a company that others on this board may have had dealings with. A group is what you make it and depends on what you bring to the table. I belong to about 10 internet newsgroups and over the years belonged to more than that and I have yet to find a group that haven't had their bickers over the years. The beauty is its like television, you're free to change the channel as well as skip over undesireable posts. Guest guest Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Graham, let's go back and look and who is " attacking " whom. I am a new student of AT with great respect for all who have come before me and have amazing knowledge and experience. Certainly not everyone's experience will be the same nor their education in this field. However, the initial comments were unneccarily strong and would put anyone on the defensive. I believe both Martin and Debby have a great deal to share with us and it is up to us to disseminate the information for ourselves. Let's keep it polite and friendly around here. Guest guest Report post Posted July 1, 2008 You're good with me! I'm looking at homeschooling myself, if I can't figure out how to avoid the 'mandatory' vaccine thing. I don't think my son's life and health is worth gambling on whatever they're loading these vaccines with. Please know you're diabetes condition absolutely is fully reversible with a change of life/eating habits. This group has lots of good info to share, and there are many wonderful websites devoted to helping people cure themselves naturally, cheaply and painlessly, so stay after it! One hazard is the amazing diversity of alleged 'cures': which ones to try that might work for you, which ones to avoid because they are risky. Getting as much info gathered up from as many resources as you can certainly helps your confidence in a course of treatment. So joining this group is a good step. Don't take any responses for 'gospel', but do take it as 'evidence' in your quest for your own right treatment. And health-nuts can be like reformed smokers--they can get pretty adamant about their solutions, so don't be put off by tart comments or slurs on your intelligence or whatever--just human stuff... Guest guest Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Hi, I also have diabetes and have managed to control it with diet. The doctor wanted me on meds but all they did was aggrevate my bowels and make me gain weight. My blood sugar runs from 100-180 by controlling my diet. I am healthier, have lost some weight, brought my blood pressure down, and am over all much healthier. I still have 80-100 more pounds to go and am hopeful that when I reach my optimum weight in about 5 years that the diabetes will be under complete control. I did a lot of research on diets prior to finding what I wanted to start out with. My blood sugar was running 200-375 when I started treating myself. When using meds it only went to 170-250. I started out by adding cinnamon, ground flax seed, flax seed oil, and stevia to my diet. I took out wheat, barley, rye, white potatoes,---basically went on the Fat Flush Plan diet. Guest guest Report post Posted July 2, 2008 One of the best things you can do for yourself is to learn about magnesium's role in diabetes and work toward making sure you are not one of over 80% of people whose diabetes is progressing or uncontrolled due to magnesium deficiency. It is simple to increase levels for most people, especially by regular use of magnesium oil used on the skin or in baths.. Magnesium reduces insulin resistance and can help lower blood sugars. There are a number of very good essays on the IMVA site regarding magnesium and diabetes. Start with the following essay: http://www.imva.info/diabetes.shtml If you are taking on a weight loss program, please do not do so without supplementing magnesium.
